Peyton pov:
"This is the 4th time Ms. Ledger, I'm afraid we're going to have to expel Peyton from our school." The principal of my now old school spoke to my mother.
"I understand, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience..." She sounded so tired, it made me feel a little bad for being in here again.
With it all said and done we stood up and left the dingy office, passing the douchebag I had gotten into a fight with earlier. His smile widening as I walked behind my mother out of this shitty place.
The drive home was quiet and tense, she focused on the road as I kept my eyes out on the street. I didn't feel like talking about this again, I didn't want to hear the disappointment in her voice again.
"Why?" She spoke with a soft sigh. Keeping my head turned from her I gave my response.
"He's an asshole, he wouldn't stop fucking with me." I sank further into my seat, growing more and more agitated.
"Yes, so you've said, but you still shouldn't fight people Peyton." She sighed again, just as frustrated as I was.
Thinking better of giving a snarky remark I nod my head and tuned her out the rest of the ride. The busy streets and people of LA passing by as we drive home.
I was thankful to see that my father wasn't home, he always hated when this happened. It gave him an excuse to be hurtful when not necessary. Grabbing my bag and stomping to my room, I leave as my mom heads back to work.
Shutting and locking my door I toss my bag somewhere and flop my body onto my bed, the coolness soothing me. Turning on my back I stare at my ceiling, listening to the defending silence. Pissed off by it I get up and turn on my speaker, connecting my phone and playing the loudest music I could.

Dinner didn't go any better, my sister was gloating about her school and how well she was doing while we all listened. Dad seemed upset by work and my mother kept quiet.
"I have a big project coming up, it's a recital that I'll be starring in." My sister, Demi, told our mom excitedly.
"That's great honey! You just let us know when and we'll be sure to see it." She smiled and squeezed her hand affectionately.
"You'll come too, right daddy?" I hated that she looked up to him, I hated that she still cared for him.
"I'll try my best sweetheart." He smiled at her, his eyes softening for her.
She squealed and hugged him, I scoffed and moved the food on my plate around. This seemed to catch my father's attention making me further upset.
"Your mother tells me you got expelled... again." He grunted, anger obvious in his voice.
"Yeah, so what?" I returned the energy back to him.
"That's the 5th fucking school Peyton, you keeping acting like this and you'll get nowhere in life." He said harshly, taking a drink from his whiskey glass.
"Like you give a fuck." I slam my utensils down.
"Peyton!" My mother chided
"What did you say?" He stood tall, anger rolling off him now.
"Like you give a fuck! You couldn't care less about me. Stop acting like you do." I stood to his height, leveling with him.
"Let's just calm down." My mother stood and pressed a hand to his chest.
