Peyton pov:
The weekend passed and so did most of the school week. I was kinda just going through the motions of things, trying to not step on my dad's toes. Ella was worried about me when she saw me on Monday but I told her not to.
It being Wednesday I was happy to be halfway through the week already. I was excited to see John about the band, it could probably help us get more gigs.
Going into music class I sat with my group, keeping my hoodie up to avoid people seeing the brusies and fucked lip. The instructor talked about music theory and songwriting.
I listened to about half of it, I was listening in on Matt and Camilla talking about a video game boss she's been working on. I was listening more about them by the end of it, even asking some questions.
"Peyton?" My attention was pulled when the teacher called my name.
"Raise your hand." Confused, I raise it and wait for him to explain. My friends snickered behind me.
"Fallon." Looking over I see her raise her hand, her eyes focused on her phone.
"Great, you two are partners. Next, Colt?" My eyes bug out, I had to be partners with her again? What the fuck is going on.
"Why are we getting partners?" I asked the others. Kenji handed me a piece of paper with writing.
'Partner song writing. Perform for class by next week.' Was all it read.
I was tasked with writing a song with her and I couldn't get out of it. The teachers here really have no switching partners rule. Accepting my fate I lean back and listen for the rest of the partners.
None of them really mattered so I only listened to when my friends got called. Honestly though? Fuck them. Matt got partnered with Cam and Kenji got some chick named Nia.
We had the last bit of class to mingle with our partners and come up with ideas. Moving away from my group I sit and wait for her to join, already dreading it.
"You look fucked up. Is it a trend?" I scoffed and relaxed into my chair, ignoring the pain I felt.
"Let's just start. I'm not in the mood." Rolling her eyes she takes a seat near me, going back on her phone.
"So what are you thinking?" I wasn't sure, I barely knew what we were supposed to do.
"What are the requirements?" She paused for a moment before answering me.
"At least one person has to sing or play an instrument. Each to their own." I groaned and rubbed my face, regretting it when it hurt my face.
"Great." The bell rang, we didn't even get to decide what to do or who was gonna do what.
"I'll be over tonight." She grabbed her bag left without another word.
"Great."

With classes finished for the day and a mountain of homework I skipped on hanging with my friends and went home. I was still in a lot of pain and just wanted to do homework and relax.
Getting home I made a quick sandwich and went to my room, already starting on the piles of homework. Pulling out a joint I light it up and take a hit, hoping it would ease some of the pain.
