Peyton pov:

Shutting my locker I prepare for my first day and first class. History & Literature, I wasn't looking forward to it but I didn't mind because Kenji was with me. Going in I sit next to him, he nods and goes back to doodling in his sketchbook.

I follow along mostly but start to nod off, I didn't get much sleep last night. I kept dreaming about the gloomy girl, she just wouldn't get out of my head. When the bell rang Kenji shook me awake and pulled me towards our next class.

Matthew and Camllia sat in the back quietly arguing over the best chip flavor which I thought was stupid.

"It's spicy chips, it doesn't matter what kind, all that matters is the spice." She hissed, shoving his face away from hers.

"Barbecue! Barbecue! Barbecue! You can't go wrong with it!" He growled and shoved her back.

I sat next to Matt while Ken sat next to me, we listened to them bicker as we waited for the teacher to arrive. I people watch and look over the weird class, Music & Instrumental. There were all types of instruments around the massive room along with some mics and soundboards up above.

I caught sight of the gloomy girl as she came in, she took a seat in the back row further away from my group. My eyes stayed fixated on her, she wore a lot of dark clothing. Was she goth? Emo?

Without looking up from her phone she flipped me the middle finger, I couldn't help the smile that came to my lips. The teacher comes in and gathered our attention. We go over fundamentals and basic notes and theories of music before going around and telling what we can play or if we can sing.

"I'm Matt and I play drums. Oo, I also like skateboarding." He smiled proudly.

"Very nice Matt, don't know what skateboards have to do with music but it nice either way. Alright next." He pointed at Camilla.

"Sup, I'm Camilla and I play guitar. I sometimes sing but not a lot." She sat back down after her statement.

He pointed over at Kenji, he stood and pulled me with him. He doesn't like public speaking all.

"Uh yeah, that's Kenji and he plays Bass and piano. He also doesn't speak a whole lot." I announce for him making the other two snicker. He sits back down which leaves me standing.

"Alright, and you are?" Mr. Jones urged me to go on.

"Oh, I'm Peyton. I play guitar, piano, and bass… I also sing." I rubbed my neck.

Sitting down more people went around the room and gave out instruments or told if they could sing. Eventually it landed on the gloomy girl peaking my interest. She stood and crossed her arms like she was irritated to be here.

"Fallon and I sing. Don't ask anymore questions." She sat back down and kept her arms crossed along with crossing her legs.

With her piece over the bell rang making everyone stand and start to leave. I followed Camilla to our next class still thinking about Fallon.

"What's up with you?" Cam lightly pushed my shoulder.

"Nothing, just curious about that Fallon chick." I sighed, irritated that I couldn't figure out why she intrigued me so much.

"The goth? Why? She seems like a bitch." We walked into class, ironically finding her not to far off.

"Don't know." I took a spot near the windows. It was dance class and I felt so out of place.

This class wasn't any better, mostly introductions on what type of dance we can do or if we dance at all. Some gave examples and others just watched.

When it was over I left Camilla and went to my next class, Theater. Kenji thought it would be fun if I took the class, y'know broaden my options or whatever. What he and the others didn't tell me was that they didn't take it…
