One Meta, millions of possibilities, millions of consequences. How do you control powers that constantly change? More importantly, how do you control the damage they cause?

(1)

I was wandering the dead land, my body struggling from the loss of energy. It had been a week, no food, no water. Nothing but Earth-15 and I. It was an accident, I had breached over from Earth-1, and then my powers faded and I became stuck here. That's when a bright green flash appeared in the distance, and I felt an overwhelming heat spread through my body. Then, I joined the green light, walking through it, following he cloud of radiation to a familiar coloured circle. "Yes! Oh my god, yes!" I threw my hands up, jumping through, only to find I was in the air.

"Woah! Woah! Flash." A man with black hair pointed up as I fell, and before I knew it I had been caught with a rush of lighting and wind. "I thought you said it was a dead earth!" The same man angrily spoke into an earpiece, and I stood up, looking around. "What earth is this?" I asked, turning to the lightning man.

"Earth-1. Who are you?"

"That's irrelevant, what I need to know is what powers that green glow had." I responded, looking down at my glowing fingertips.

"Fallout? Radiation, a lot of it." As he said this, I froze, shaking my head.

"And how did he control it?"

"Staying calm. Mind telling us who you are?" The other man joined us and I looked between the two.

"My name is Emme. I need your help." I replied, looking down at my hands again.

"You're turning green?"

"No. I'm turning radioactive. Your friend you just got rid of has passed on his powers, get me some music, some food and some water. It's been a week and I'm starving." I stated, looking around. They didn't move. "Do you want to fight Fallout 2.0? No? Move!" I began to feel desperate, and the man opened up a breach, gesturing for me to step through, along with lighting man.

"Flash, go get checked out, I'll talk with Emme and get her some stuff."

"Vibe, be careful." I looked between the pair, eyebrow raised.

"Superhero names? You guys think I care who you really are? I've been stuck on a dead earth with nothing but my mind and rubble for a week, now come on." I shooed 'Vibe' our of the room so he could lead me to a larger room.

"Sorry here, I'll be back in a couple of minutes." He said, before breaching away. I looked around the room, on one side sat a computer and a bunch of other tech stuff, and at the end was a ramp that lead to a circular corridor at the top edges of each wall, glass replacing the bricks. "Here. I brought you a big belly burger, and a large Fanta." Vibe walked back in, now out of his outfit, and I smiled gratefully.

"What is this place?" I asked, looking around the room as I tucked into the food.

"Star Labs. I'm Cisco, by the way." He held out his hand, but I just nodded in return. "Okay, then. How were you stuck on Earth-15?" I paused, thinking of how to explain what had happened.

"Well, I was actually on my way to visit Star Labs. I was walking through Central City when I felt something strange. Next thing I know, a portal appears in front of me, and I'm on a different planet. At least what I thought was a different planet, up until I discovered city ruins and too many familiar faces. Let's just say I believe in the multiverse now." I explained, looking up at him.

"What do you mean, you felt something strange?" He asked.

"Well, as you can probably tell, being as smart as you are, I'm a meta."

"Yeah, but that doesn't explain why you say you've got Fallout's powers." He responded. I shrugged, finishing off my burger.

"That's the thing, I don't know how to explain it. That's why I came here, or was trying to. My powers are always changing, and I can't control how they change, or when. All I know, is that it's from being near others metas. I could wake up tomorrow and have telekinesis from a meta I walked past on the street." I informed, standing up. "And right now, I've got dangerous powers. I need to know how to control them."

"You realise how crazy this sounds, right?" Cisco asked, and I nodded, knowing I wouldn't believe me either.

"How crazy what sounds?" A man and a woman joined us, and Cisco turned.

"Barry, Caitlin, meet Emme, an ever changing meta." Cisco gestured towards me.

"Ever-Chang..what now?" Barry cocked his head, and the pair walked over, causing me to grow wary as my fingertips still hinted at the radiation I'd inherited.

"My power, is more like powers, I don't know how it happens, but I do know that I gotta learn to control it, because if something goes wrong people are gonna get hurt, and I don't want to let that happen."

"Wait, so you can have any power you want?"

"Maybe if I learnt to control it, oh, and we had a store of other metas laying around." I stated, finishing up my food and letting out a sigh of relief.

"You came to the right place, we can run some tests, see what we can find?" Caitlin suggested, looking between Cisco, Barry and I.

"Uh, sure, in a few days."

"Why?"

"One thing I do know about my powers, is when they're surging, and it's the first time I've picked up a power for a week. Do you guys have anywhere that's safe for me, well, you? It's rising and if I lose focus for even a second, I don't know what will happen, but you guys sent fallout to a dead earth for a reason, right?" I trailed off, forcing the radiation to stay contained, ignoring the pain.
