I was sent to eath by my dad, the man in the moon.

I had lived with him for so long, I had lost count. I was Star Light, my job was to make sure the stars were shining every night, so that when the children felt alone, or needed someone to listen, they would be there. The stars also stored the wishes, many that were unable to be made true, be they a girl wishing for a pet unicorn or a boy for a dragon, but some could. I also designed the constellations of the sky, setting the shapes with the stars for people to discover. Now I was finally allowed to leave the moon and go to Earth, the only catch was that once I left, there was no going back. But I was an adult, had been for a long time, I was perfectly capable of caring for myself.

"Are you ready?" My dad asked, I turned to him, closing my journal.

"Yes." I smiled, following him towards the light beams, provided by the sun. This was a rare moment, a full eclipse, it was my only chance to leave. "Be safe daughter, remember who you are, and that I'm always up here. I love you." He said hugging me, I smiled.

"I love you too dad, goodbye." With that I jumped onto the beam, wooping as I surfed it down to the Earth. Best day of my life as I hurtled through space, past all the stars and into the world. This was my new life, a new start.

I landed and smiled as I looked around, I was in a small clearing next to a frozen pond. I looked up at the sky, the moon shining bright, and I held my hands up, taking in the light and flying up into the beams. My hands glowed as I shot some light back to alert my father that I had arrived safely, and that I was happy. Just after I did I was knocked to the ground and into a heap of snow.

I sat up groaning, "I am so sorry. I didn't see you...wait who are you?" I now realised that it was Jack Frost who had flown into me.

"I'm Star Light, the daughter of the man in the moon." I replied, taking his hand as he helped me up.

"No way..." He just stared in amazement and I snapped my fingers, a spark of light appearing to get his attention. "Why are you here?" He finally asked as we started to walk.

"I've been asking for years, and I was finally allowed to come down here. Can I just say, I'm a huge fan of what you and the others do, and congrats on your recent victory. I don't know what happened but I heard it ended with you being a guardian." I informed and he smiled.

"Thanks. Now, since you're new around here, how about I give you the grand tour?" He suggested, I smirked.

"Sure. Where to?" He just smiled, reaching out his hand and leading me into the sky.

He lead me over the village and towards a small house, where he shushed me and peered into a window. I looked in to see a little boy, sat playing with a rocket on his bed. "Who is he?" I asked, looking at Jack.

"The first kid to believe in me, crazy huh?" He asked, I shrugged.

"Nobodys even heard of me, you're luckier than you think." I responded.

"Seriously? I've heard the amount of kids talking to you, they believe." Jack looked at me in disbelief.

"No, they believe in the stars." I reminded.

"And last I checked, you are the stars." Jack wouldn't give in.

"No, I'm friends with the stars." I informed.

"Friends?" He raises an eyebrow.

"They whisper to me, their wishes..." I paused as I heard their voices, "he's been asking about you a lot recently." I told Jack, looking in at the boy.

"Really?"

"Yeah, wishes to see you again, so you better get in there." It was a half warning, but he laughed it off.

"What about you?"

"I can look after myself." I resolved.

"You sure?" Testing my statement, the icy manipulator shot a blast my way, to which I created a shield of moonlight, absorbing the hit and leaving me unscathed. "Okay, that was a nice trick."

"Told you, see you around Frost."

"See you around, Baby Moon."

I basked in the silence as I flew up along the beams, and that's the moment darkness clouded me. I knew this shadow, the way it swirled as if it were alive, and I knew what he was capable of. I summoned an orb of moonlight, panic creeping in, and then I let it out, light dispersing the power and leaving Picth Black standing shocked. "And who might you be?"

"You don't want to know." My fingertips lit up, his eyes narrowing in.

"Star Light, how nice to finally meet your acquaintance," he bowed.

"What is this? How do you know who I am?"

"I've heard many great things about you, and I have to admit, you don't disappoint."
