ROBIN SAT IN silence for a few moments after nancy left the kitchen. it was unlike nancy to just leave like that, normally she'd hang around for a while just to be in the same room as robin.

she shook it off as nancy being jealous she had aidan over and rolled her eyes. she grabbed a glass of water and headed back to her room, passing steve on the way.

the way he looked at her was....off. instead of a small grin, it was more stern- almost cold, even. he was looking right at her, but his eyes felt distant. she felt like he was a million miles away from her. he looked unhappy.

and steve was unhappy. he hated the new robin. he had never once expected her to be the same as she was back at scoops when they first met. but he never expected her to be like this. she was rude, she was unappreciative, and she was selfish.

he felt like his best friend was gone. the girl he had spent the past years with, the girl he had got rejected by in that bathroom stall in starcourt. the girl he watched fall in love with his ex. the girl who was always smiling or throwing playful insults at him. her sweet, bubbly, uplifting personality was gone.

she was different now.

and as robin walked past him without barely acknowledging his existence confirmed his thoughts. before the accident, robin would always acknowledge him, even if it was a playful shove or a small smile.

even if she didn't die in that car crash, a part of her did.

the next few days were pretty....quiet. nancy stayed in her room, away from steve and especially robin. she was still processing everything robin said, trying to interpret it any other way than the truth. she tried telling herself robin was just saying that or robin was lying, but she knew it was true. it wasn't hard to see- robin hated her.

steve, on the other hand, was definitely the most active in the house. he was out of his room for the most part, either in the living room watching tv or in the kitchen eating snacks. he tried talking to nancy, but decided to give her a bit of space after she started not responding. he was sure to steer clear of robin's path, though, as he didn't want to see her.

speaking of robin, she'd been in and out of the house. she could either be found in her room or at aidan's place, as they had become officially boyfriend and girlfriend. she hadn't said a word to nancy- though, she had thought about her....a lot more than she would like to admit. she wondered why nancy had been icing her out, and why did she have the sudden mood change? she hadn't really said anything to steve either, she was wondering the same questions about him too.

it was a beautiful spring day in indiana- it was 75 degrees outside, sunny, barely any clouds. robin decided to spend the day by being indoors in her room despite the warm weather, per usual. she was scrolling on instagram when aidan texted her.

what time?

robin looked at the time- it was only 5:30. she didn't need to start getting ready till around eight, so she set an alarm for 7:55 and took a quick nap.

she woke up feeling better, and checked her phone. she found nothing important. she climbed out of bed and walked to her makeup vanity, taking a seat in the small stool.

prior to her accident, she had never worn much makeup. a small bit of macara and eyeliner in her waterline, and a coat of lipgloss. now, she puts on a full face- primer, foundation, concealer, contor, blush, eyelashes, etc.

when she finished her makeup, it was already 9:45. she threw together a quick outfit, which consisted of doc martens, baggy jeans, and a cropped baby tee- yet another thing she would've never thought of before the accident.

after she was all dressed, aidan had just sent a text letting her know he had arrived. she grapped a small purse and headed out of her bedroom. nobody was in the halls when she left her room, so she was relieved. she trekked down the stairs and left through the front door.

she got in the car, and aidan immediately leaned towards her. he kissed her cheek, giving her a small smile. "you look hot"

"thanks," she said, looking out the window.

when they arrived at the party, they were hit by the smell of alochol, weed, and the sound of loud music- a classic frat party. she went inside with aidan, and he began immediately talking to a few guys he knew.

robin swayed on her feet for a moment before making up an excuse about getting a drink and left. as she walked away, he didn't look over at her even once.

she grabbed a drink and found a somewhat quiet space. she sat down in the room and began drinking her drink. she hated how aidan always abandoned her at parties. as she finished her drink, she left her spot to get another.

when she reached the kitchen, she found a whole case of beer bottles. she grabbed the case and left, returning back to her spot. she sat down, opened one, and chugged it.

she ended up drinking all 6 bottles, and by the end, she could barely process what was happening. something inside her told her to go find aidan, so she used the wall to help herself up and guide her away. it wasn't long after she left that she found aidan. but she immediately wished she hadn't.

aidan was making out with another girl.
