ROBIN DIDN'T ACTUALLY like driving. in fact, every single time she had to drive, she could feel her chest tighten and her breath hitch. she would struggle to breathe and become shaky. but it didn't stop her from driving.

it's not like she had any other option. she didn't want to ask steve to drive her. she hated relying on other people- especially after her accident. she didn't want anyone to treat her differently. she wanted them to treat her how they did before.

or how she thought they did before. she wasn't really sure how exactly they had treated her since she lost her memory. but, in her mind, she had a vision of how they acted towards her; a vision completely different than how they currently interacted with her.

her drive to aidan's was silent as she focused on the road. she was being extremely cautious, always glancing around at her surroundings more often than usual and driving in silence. she even went a couple miles under the speed limit, just to be safe.

when she pulled up at aidan's place, she took a couple minutes to compose herself before going in. she touched up the small bit of light makeup she had put on, and worked to get her breathing back to normal. after doing this, she stepped out of her car and made her way to the doorstep.

when she raised her hand to knock, the door swung open.

"i thought i heard your car pull up," aidan smiled, pulling her in for a hug.

"yeah i got here a couple minutes ago. i was just finishing up a song that i like," she lied, going past him and into his house. "so, what're we doing tonight?"

"i was thinking that we should go to a party"

robin wasn't a big fan of parties. one thing she never forgot was her social anxiety and how bad it would get around big groups of people. plus, the thought of being surrounded by drunk college kids didn't necessarily sound fun to her.

but if she wanted to seem cool, she knew she had to go.

"sure, what party?"

"one of the kids on campus not too far from here. it doesn't start for a while, though, so we'll have plenty of time to do....y'know, whatever you want to do"

"we could watch a movie or something," robin suggested, shutting down any hints he was attempting to throw out.

"oh....yeah, sure"

the two decided on a movie shortly after, settling into the couch with a soda and candy. aidan kept attempting to shift closer to robin, but she slowly began shifting away. she was uninterested in anything romantic or sexual happening between them.

after what seemed like ages, aidan announced that it was time to go to the party. the two of them walked to his car and got in. she could immediately smell weed the second she opened the door, and made a mental note to hold her breath the entire ride.

the drive was silent, with only music playing in the background. robin watched out the window, dreading what was about to come.
