Suits and ties were all I heard for the past two weeks from Lucky Seven and The Kid my jumpsuit won't cut it, they say we need to show those rich assholes we are not just criminals and Mercenaries but something more like being ( Useful ).
As I finally got away from them by claiming to need a smoke outside, they didn't really believe a single word I said, knowing I didn't smoke but knowing I needed just a moment alone to try to adjust to this new pressure on my shoulders so they let me been.
I was just sitting outside when my boss came out of nowhere and sat beside me while drinking a cold beer, he handed me one too, and said ( I already know you are pretty upset with me because I've been keeping secrets while also Sheltering you from the city dark little secrets )
( If I'm being completely honest with myself it was pretty selfish of me to keep you in that dark bubble and just expect you to be ready on that Dangerous Mission, I just was so damn afraid of losing another person, I can't tell you how many times I have taken in people just to watch them die not even a few days later)
( Simply because they were chasing that dream of Freedom so damn badly, they forgot to look down and ran straight off the cliff, so I told myself this time I would do it differently, and in the end, I almost got you killed because I made a wrong call )
I patted him on the shoulder and said in Russian ( мы не можем быть кровными, но мы семья, и это все, что имеет значение ) he asks me what did I I replied with (we may not be blood but we are family and that is all that matters)
A single tear went down his scared eye, and he said to me ( thanks kid I really needed to hear that) we sat there drinking and talking until The Kid sat beside us drinking a soda and eating his favorite burger, he threw bags of burgers and fries into our laps saying he accidentally bought too much food and just wanted to get rid of it.
we knew what The Kid meant but something weird happened we heard barefoot walking towards us with the faint smell of cooked crab, we followed the sound and smell to Miss Salvaje peeking around the corner but also eating a massive boiled Crab Claw.
Before we could ask what she was doing, she broke the claw in half with her bare hands and offered it to us, The kid ripped off a piece of meat, smelled it then abruptly ate it with little to no hesitation, and then gave her a thumbs up.
Before we could fully react she dropped the claw and then picked up The Kid and pulled him into a hug saying ( Salvaje will kill anyone who hurts Salvaje's new little friend!!!) The Kid's face turns red as he slowly realizes he is being hugged by a nearly naked crazy woman he slowly looks over to us and mouths out ( help please) I and Antonio bust out laughing.
