It was dinner time now. In front of Steve and Herobrine were two styrofoam cups.

"Really? This is all you can afford?" Herobrine peers at the cup noodle with a scowl.

Right. Of course, someone like Herobrine would be offended by food like this. Immortals like him only eat top-quality food. "Well, I'm sorry that this food isn't up to your standards!" Steve glowered. "I'm trying to save money here. Besides... it's very fast to prepare..."

Herobrine's shoulder dropped as he picked up a plastic fork. "If I had known this is what you'll get, I would have asked someone for food," he muttered.

"Like who?"

"The next-door neighbors," Herobrine responded as he began playing with his food, like a picky kid.

Steve's mind immediately went back to the night when he couldn't sleep. "I don't think you should..." The last thing he wants to do is eat their food after listening to them all night.

Herobrine stood up from his chair. "As a matter of fact, I'll go ask right now."

"No!" Steve cried out.

Herobrine looks at him with a frown. "Why not?"

"Because ... because..." Steve tried to think of something that did not relate to him hearing the neighbors having sex all night. "Because it's shameful!"

"S-shameful...?" Herobrine repeated. "How?"

Steve had just blurted out the first thing he thought of. "W-well.." He scrambled to find any reasoning to back up his claim. "For... for humans... Asking for food and money from people, especially strangers is rude..."

"Ah..." Herobrine recalled the numerous times that people snapped at him. However, once they took a look at him, they quickly rebutted themselves and gave him something. "That would explain the initial reactions."

Seeing how Herobrine agreed with him, Steve continued with newfound confidence. "Th-that's right! You should be ashamed of yourself!" he proclaimed loudly.

Herobrine fell silent, wondering if he was doing things wrong.

"That's just not what a normal human being does."

His eyes widened. "A normal human being..." Steve's words echoed in his mind. He had been doing things wrong! Times have changed, and things that were normal before aren't the same in the present time. How did he not see this back then? Herobrine wonders when he got so out of touch with life.

Steve watched as Herobrine's face twisted into realization as if he found the answer to the universe. He grinned. He couldn't help but feel how clever he was. So clever that even an immortal like Herobrine couldn't help but stare in awe.

"Your name is Stew right?" Herobrine finally spoke after a long moment of silence.

"Steve! My name is Steve!"

Herobrine just nodded at him. "Since you see past my illusion, I want you to help me."

"Help you?" Steve frowned.

"A human being—that's what I want to be," Herobrine explained. "I want to blend in with the other humans."

Steve scowled. "You already look human to everyone else."

"I may look human, but I also want to act like one."

"So... you want to be... normal?"

Herobrine crosses his arms. "A human being," he said more firmly this time.

"Pft!" Steve almost bursts out laughing but he covers his mouth. It was apparent that Herobrine didn't want to admit he was strange. "So what do I get out of this?"
