i almost feel childish,
i thought i was invited here alone
like best friends would
maybe if i just closed my eyes and listened to her voice
it would feel like we were all alone
————————————-————————————-————————————-————————————-
tonight the stars look like mini suns
as if the moon was broke into a million pieces and spread across the sky
the only light we needed,
we had all huddled around the basement tv,
watching killer clowns in sewers
and drowning our faces in buttery popcorn
i can still feel the sharp spark when our hands both touched the popcorn bowl
i wished that i didn't feel it
because i wanted to feel it again
so i lay on the covers wishing to drown into them
or maybe just drown the feelings
but of course she lays next to me
making my heart drop
thousands of feet under the blankets
i guess drowning doesn't work after all

"Amitola, I'm tired," I groaned.
"That's okay," She replies, " So am I"
i just don't understand why the stars looked like a broken down sun,
why the killer clowns were so mean
why i liked my best friend so much
or why it always felt like life was threatening to take
so when ever something good happened,
i seeped into my thoughts
reminding myself not to get my hopes up
but life just wanted me to suffer more this time
