Life, Not Roses

Almost Breakfast

for i cannot spring out of bed,
like if i were chained
strung across the bed
breathing in the soft air
as a heavy weight of feelings press,
it's pressing against my skin
it feels like rocks compressing into my body
for i am hurting inside
because who i am inside is what no one wants
no one stays
no one listens long enough
no one except amitola
who is clinging onto my side in a slumber
somehow being able to wrap her arms around me
somehow being able to share her hot breath into my neck
somehow being able to steal away my heart.

"Alice..," Amitola sung softly, drawing circles on my collarbone with her finger.
"Hm..?" I groaned.
"Your mom has work this Sunday right?" She sighed.
"Yeah, why?" I scrunched my nose.
"Because now we have to cook breakfast and I suck at that.." She murmured.
"Well, I'm fairly good with cooking, so don't worry about it." I grinned.
"You don't seem like the good cook." She chuckled.
"No? I'm a great cook!" I giggled, "You hungry right now?"
"Nope.. but I do want to know what happened last night.." Amitola interrogated.
"In the morning..? Right now?" I sighed.
"Isn't that what I said last night?" She scrunched her nose.
"Mhm.. but I am just so tired Amitola.." I frowned.
"Fine.." She growled, resting her head on my chest, "but if you don't tell me somewhere today.."
"Okay.. Okay.." I smiled.
"You know.." Amitola announced, "it's getting boring just calling eachother by our names, let's give eachother nicknames!"
"Like what.." I smirked.
"I'm going to call you love, okay?" She clapped her hands excitedly.
"Okay.. I'll call you.."
"Call me princess!" She interrupted
"Huh?" I tilted my head.
"Call me princess.." She said more stern than the first time.
"That's so corny Amitola!" I giggled.
"I don't care!" She pushes me playfully.
"Fine.. princess.." I stuttered.
"Thank you!" She grinned.
"Whatever, let's go make breakfast."
"Okay!"
