"Here we go again" Seamus comments as we enter the potions classroom.
"Why is it always our classes she just so happens to be inspecting? Ginny said not one single class she's seen Umbridge inspecting"
"I bet it's so she can stalk Harry and secretly fangirl over him" I respond
"I heard that" Harry speaks turning around to face me
"Good, you were meant to" I laugh
"It will be good to see how Snape reacts to her questions"
"Dad will be sarcastic without her realising knowing him"
"Or give her zero detail to annoy her" Hermione adds on
"Silent everyone. Today you will be brewing the strengthening solution. Instructions are on the board"
I go and grab the ingredients and come back setting things up on the desk. Dad walks around followed closely by Umbridge who is writing things down and asking him questions.
"14 years" Dad responds as they approach our table
"And this is the potion 5th years are learning, do you think this is not too advanced?"
"It's been 14 years so far and I believe Horace taught the same to 5th years before me and they have all succeeded just fine. Therefore as long as these lot follow the instructions on the board they will do just fine"
"You have previously applied for the position of dark arts. On multiple occasions"
"Yes"
"And you didn't get the post?"
"Obviously"
I let out a chuckle at Dad's tone.
"And why is that?"
"Oooh Gurl you did not just ask that"
"Excuse me?" Umbridge asks looking at me
Guess I said that too loudly "It's a bit of a rude question. But it's obvious why he never got offered the post."
"It is? Then what is it?"
Dad looks at me annoyed and I let out my signature charming smile "me"
"You?"
"Yes me, you see I'm terribly awful at potions. Shock I know with him as my father but Hogwarts simply would be in danger every time I had this class if dad wasn't nearby to stop any explosions and all that jazz. Plus I'd rather get good grades in potions than defence so it works for us all. Hogwarts remains intact and I don't get bad grades"
"Is this true Severus?"
"No it is not," he says through gritted teeth
She gives me a glare and leaves the classroom.
"You're welcome" I smile at dad
"What was that about?"
"It made her leave and stop following you like a lost puppy. Surprised there are no shoe prints on your robe for how close she was behind you"
"You're just like your mother"
"I know." I laugh
He walks off and continues to inspect everyone else's potions.
"Not that!" I say quickly as I grab Seamus' hand from adding the beans to the potion.
"I already washed my hair once today. Thank you"
"I don't know about you blowing the school up, Seamus however" Ron speaks
"One day it may come in handy"
"Let's not make that one day happen anytime soon. Unless it's Umbridge's office and she's inside it."
"I heard that" Dad's voice speaks up from behind me
"You low-key wish it would happen though"
He rolls his eyes and walks off to inspect the other potions brewing away around the classroom.
"Your mother must've needed comedy to put up with him"
"For your information Seamus my mother was a fantastic woman and it was her comedy that actually attracted Dad to her. She would've given the twins a good run for their money"
"Sirius said she was funny in Hogwarts"
"She was. I'm glad I inherited it from her and not the dungeon gloominess"
"What did she look like?" Hermione asks with a smile
"Exactly like me, although I am metamorphmagus I will never change my hair color from this ruby red hair as it's the color hair she had"
"And you copied her by getting into Gryffindor too"
"Of course I did, I am my mothers' daughter after all" I laugh
"By what Sirius said she wouldn't have helped to get Umbridge to leave"
"Oh, she definitely wouldn't she would've loved to watch dad get annoyed with the toad. I don't have the patience to put up with her high pitched voice any longer"
Little did both Severus and Y/N know Samantha was there and she loved every second watching her husband get annoyed more than usual and her daughter bringing out the smart comebacks. Samantha was truly proud that her daughter has ended up being like her, surprised that Severus was even willing to bring her up allowing her to.
