"The yule ball has been a tradition of the Triwizard tournament. Ourselves and our guests on the night of Christmas Eve night for a ball. The ball will be open only to fourth-years and above, although you may invite a younger student if you wish"
McGonagall walks down the room and turns to her left where al the boys are sat and smirks "As representatives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule Ball is first and foremost. A dance"
The boys all let out a groan of annoyance and I turn to look at Hermione smiling "This is so cool. I always wanted to go to a ball"
"Don't your family host one every year?"
"I mean a ball that is actually fun"
Professor McGonagall then goes on about telling us how to dance, something about there being a swan inside us girls and a lion inside the boys. I wasn't paying attention as I already know this. Myself and Draco got lessons every year since we were 6 so we didn't show up our parents at their balls.
Ron got caught talking so now I get the entertainment of watching him now in the center of the room as McGonagall teaches him how to dance.
"I wish I had a camera" I chuckle
"The twins are enjoying it" Hermione laughs
"They're never going to let him live this down" I smirk as I watch them both dancing on the spot whilst laughing.
Saturday Afternoon
"How about this one?" Mother asks whilst holding a dark green dress
"No Mother, I really don't want a dark dress" I sigh as I continue looking through the rack of dresses.
"Who are you going with?"
"No one yet"
"Blaise is still looking for someone" Draco speaks up
"I'm not going with Blaise"
"Why not? He's a lovely person" Mother smiles
"No, he isn't"
Before any of them can respond I go into the dressing room with a few dresses to try on. The 7th dress was the one meaning this torturous afternoon is finally over with.
