The place wasn't as peaceful as normal, Dumbledore knew that the mischief will be more in full swing now Remus Lupin has been reunited with his two best friends. James and Sirius. Although he was disheartened to know that baby Teddy would grow up without his parents but know he will grow up to know all about them and their act of bravery to save the world from becoming a very dark place.
So many people he saw entering this world, some he knew and some he didn't know as much but everyone entering tonight is certainly a hero and didn't deserve to die, especially his students. Miss Lavender Brown never got to experience a true loving relationship where a potion isn't involved, such a wonderful soul taken away too early.
"Albus?"
The man turns around and smiles as he is reunited with his best friend of many years "Severus, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Harry is doing well. I gave him some of my memories so he will know the truth"
"Good, you did good Severus. Someone has been waiting to see you as well"
"Who?"
"I have" The softly spoken voice speaks causing his face to pale even more
Severus turns around and is face to face with the only female he has ever loved, the female which is the reason why he did everything he did.
"Lily" He whispers still in shock that she's here, not only that but she is smiling and talking to him.
The first time she has spoken to him since the day he deeply regretted saying what he did to her.
"Let's take a seat" She smiles motioning to a nearby bench
The two long lost friends take a seat, both thinking very different things. Lily happy to see him and is ready to have her friend back, deep down she missed him dearly.
Snape also happy to see her but worried that she's going to snap at him as he did to her that day. Worried he's now going to have to see her around and have her ignoring him as if he wasn't there at all.
"It's been a while, too long in fact"
"It has indeed, 17 years"
"Feels longer. I hope you know I have forgiven you"
"You have?" The man asks shocked, he dreamt of hearing those words come from her but always knew it was just a dream never to become a reality.
"Yes, it took me years I will admit, Harry's first year of Hogwarts was when I forgave you. You saved him during the Quidditch match. Then continued to save him many times afterward. I know that must've been hard. James feels bad about how he treated you, watching you protect his son made him mature even more, I'm not married to a kid anymore" She laughs at the end causing Severus to let out a small smile himself.
"I may seem cold-hearted but I would never let any of my students get into danger. But I did more effort into it with Harry because he is your son"
"I know and I thank you for that. I have missed you Severus"
"And I have missed you too"
"You can say no, but would you like to be friends again?"
"I would, Albus is a great friend but I can't tolerate him around me 24/7 forever"
She lets out a chuckle "I've had 17 years of it with James and his pranks, I needed you around so I could have a normal conversation with someone"
After a further 30 minutes of chatting, the pair stood up, embraced each other in a hug, and parted ways.
Severus and Lily were reunited, they were now friends again. As the years went on Severus began to go back to his old self with the help of Lily and Albus. He even tolerated James, Sirius, and Remus. Although he would never be extremely good friends with them.
But finally, Severus was no longer alone, and more importantly, he was smiling more. If you saw him now you would think that everyone was describing a different Potions Professor due to how much Severus has changed.
