I spent the rest of the party sitting quietly with my attention fully invested in my glass of wine. I was uncomfortable but when I saw how Natalia and Nathan were enjoying themselves I smiled, it was the best alternative view since Abdul was helping Greyson take pictures. I can't believe I've been so busy that I forgot that they were just kids, they needed to be around other kids too. "Hi there. You must be Abdul's girlfriend. "Am Renee, Greyson's wife", I turned only to see the voice was coming from a very beautiful woman with a floral-wrapped dress that looked so perfect as if it was made for her. "Oh! Am not his girlfriend, we're just friends but it's nice to meet you too, thank you for having us", I replied with a smile, and she returned it.
"I was looking for you", Abdul said to Renee as he walked in with Khaled right behind him. "I was changing, had been cooking since 6 am and I'm so tired", she whined while hugging Abdul and then Khaled. Speaking of Khaled. He was a whole different person with Renee, happy, all smiling, which cemented my idea that he hates my guts. I felt a hand settle dangerously close to my butt, it was Abdul's. "You need more wine?", he whispered a bit too close to my ear. It made my body shiver in ways that I could not explain, by the look on his face, he did it on purpose. "Y-yes please", I said after getting my sanity back. When my eyes met Renee's she was all smiles, to be precise, she was smiling like a kid in a candy store, making me blush. "Are you sure you're not his girlfriend?", she asked again making me even more embarrassed. I could have sworn I saw Khaled huff in annoyance. "Honey, stop making her uncomfortable", Greyson said pulling her in for a kiss, suddenly my shoes became the most interesting part of my day. Abdul returned with my glass of wine just in time for our hosts to move away from each other. "Do you not see how your actions are not PG13?", Abdul teased the couple making them smile while looking into each other's eyes as if they were the only ones in the room. Khaled sat right next to us silently, he was on his phone the whole time.
"Did you guys have fun?", Claire asked when we got home. "Yes!! And we bot ya cake", Natalia said making me smile. Yes her talking was interesting. I felt warm fingers interlocking with mine. "Nikki, did you have a good time?", Abdul asked. "Yes I did, thank you for inviting us, the twins really needed that. I've been so busy that I forgot they're just kids", I said looking at how they were explaining the party to Claire as she took them to the bathroom. "Aunt Zahra, come!", Nathan said pulling Zahra with him. She followed with a huge smile.
"Nikki, I don't want to sound pushy but I was ok with you taking your time to think about us, it's almost two months now, and you haven't said anything and I can't continue like this. I need you. Please", he said closing the distance that was between us. When I looked up to meet his dark grey eyes, I was suddenly lost in them. His fingers kept caressing my left cheek as I waited for him to speak. "Please Nikki", he begged, my body shivering. I want him, I want him so bad. "Ok", I barely got the word out and he was on my lips. The kiss was so intense that I felt my knees go weak. I reached for his neck for support causing his hands to go to my butt, he squeezed them making me moan into the kiss, suddenly forgetting where I was.
I heard footsteps coming our way and I quickly pulled away, he furrowed his brows not liking the fact that I ended our kiss until Nathan grabbed his leg, "Hey, buddy, what are you up to?", "Cars", he said with a huge smile making Abdul smile back. He lifted him, carrying him to the living room where his toys were.
"You look flushed, were you guys being naughty again?", Zahra asked. "No... Yes, just a little. We have decided to give ourselves another try", "Really! Finally", she said then started typing furiously on her phone. I left her to her craziness and went to the twins' room, "He's good with the kids", Claire said while folding their clothes. "Yes, he likes kids, always did", "How long have you guys known each other?", "Well, since I was fifteen", my answer made shock appear all over Claire's face. "And he is still hooked? I need your wisdom on how to capture a man that way because, waoh, just waoh!". "You just found out? I've known them my whole life, how do you think I feel?", Zahra complained making me smile. "You two shut up", I said walking away.
💕Abdul: Hey, I just got home. Are you guys asleep?
Me: The kids yes. Me no.
💕Abdul: Why not?
Me: I was waiting for you I guess.
💕Abdul: 🤩... You won't regret this. I promise you.
Me: 🤞🏾
💕Abdul: I love you. Night.
Me: Goodnight. It was a foreign feeling but I liked it. I was excited too.
1 month later
Everything is just perfect between us and I see the kids forming a strong bond with Abdul. They like him, they listen to him. Unlike me, when he tells them to do something they do it, even Claire doesn't understand it. "Hey Babe, how was your day?", he said the moment I got into his car ready for a lift home. "It was tiring", he gave me a peck as usual before driving away. "Is it the café with the leakage issue?", "Yes, and it's always on the same day. It's like they're jealous of my weekend", I complained to Abdul as if he knew who they were. "How about you find them a new sink, something that can force them to be neat", he said while shrugging his shoulders. "Good idea", he's a genius. "So I was hoping you guys would come for a sleepover at my house this weekend. You need a break. We can bring Claire too", he said focusing on the road. Coming to think of it, this was going to be my first time going to his house. I was with him for a month and I've no idea where he lives. "That would be great", I texted Claire and she agreed. By the time we reached the apartment, I was the only one without a sleepover bag, I packed quickly then we left for Abdul's.
