Abdul's POV
Woke up to an empty bed and wondered, where is this woman? It's a Saturday morning and I know for a fact that we're usually very lazy on a Saturday morning not to mention I always have a quickie for being a good boy but here I am, alone. I got out of bed, and tried to locate a pair of pants, not bothering with a shirt because I was going to find her and carry her back to bed if I had to.
"You have long hair, it's so pretty. I want to have long hair like you grandma", I heard Natalia speaking and I didn't know what to make of it until I walked into the kitchen and found mother making breakfast with Nikki. They looked cozy together which alarmed me even more. "Abdul...", mother said not able to finish the sentence. "What are you doing here?", I said feeling the anger starting to take over me. "Abdul, baby... can we talk for a sec?", Nikki said coming to stand in front of me. I looked into her eyes and I saw happiness, which was weird. She pulled my arm as we headed back to our bedroom.
"Good morning baby", she said pulling me in a kiss, the moment our lips touched, I was a goner. Her moan brought me back to reality and I pulled back. "Why is she here?", I asked with all seriousness I could master considering I was still enchanted by her kiss. She bit her lip, pulling me closer. "No! Speak", I said pulling away from her. She released a breath. "She's the reason I was late yesterday. I went to see her and we talked things out. We're starting a fresh so I decided to invite everyone for breakfast", she said innocently. "Babe, you didn't have to do this, we were fine", I pleaded. "I know, but I wanted to. And I didn't do it for you... ok, maybe I did but not only you. I want us to be one family and I know we can be if you just give her a chance", she said with so much emotion that I ended up smiling, I kissed her soft forehead making her giggle. "You just had to remind me how tiny I am", "Yeah! Your cute too though", I said kissing her soft lips. This woman is just amazing and I was grateful for her.
"This is amazing Nikki", father said after eating a piece of roti. "Oh thank you but I didn't make it. Fatima did", she complimented my mother, making her blush. Zahra choked on her coffee and Amira froze like someone who was in shock. Ahmed on the other hand was all smiles. "Oh really? You cooked in a kitchen that isn't yours. That's nice", father complimented while looking into mother's eyes with adoration. It was a nice thing to see. "Well it is a clean kitchen, unlike Amira's", she commented making all of us laugh because we know, Amira can not clean to save her own life. "Mum, it only happened once, and I told you we were making cookies... tell them Tariq", she elbowed her husband who pretended not to hear anything making her roll her eyes and the rest of us laugh even harder. "I like the curry, my dear, it's delicious", Mother complimented Nikki, who ended up smiling the moment her eyes met mine. I winked at her making her laugh.
"That was nice, how did you manage to bring them together?", father asked surprising me, considering he was there the last time mother opened up about her insecurities. "I was as clueless as you are until I walked into the kitchen and she was there. Apparently, Nikki had a sit with her last night and they reconciled so she decided to invite her for breakfast", my father's eyes went wide and suddenly got replaced with happiness. A smile appeared on his face. "I'm glad you held on to her. She's one in a million", he said and I didn't bother to ask who he was talking about because I knew there was only one person that my father was willing to praise in public. "That she is", I replied as Ahmed walked into the living room, persuading us to watch sports with him. Before we knew it the place had Tariq, Aziz, Greyson and a very moody Khaled. I guess the honeymoon didn't go as planned.
I tried to concentrate on the screen but it was super hard because I kept hearing laughs and giggles from the kitchen. I couldn't help but think that I was dreaming. My mother was literally cooking in Nikki and I's house. My sisters and friends with them, in harmony. "Hey man! can I talk to you for a bit", Khaled knocked me back to reality. "Sure, let's go out back", I said pulling him with me. "Hey man. How did it go?", I asked looking at his worried face. "I messed up man, I didn't know if she had someone taking pictures you know", he said while running his fingers through his hair.
The fact that he was panicking proved that Angela was not the person he was talking about. "Slow down", I urged him and watched as he released a breath. "I met with some girl at the club and we had a few drinks, before I know it we were making out and the pictures were sent to Angela and I just... I don't know what to do man", he looked lost and for some reason I was speechless. He just admitted to actually cheating on Angela. "Wait here", I said rushing into the house going to call the only person who I thought would help make him feel better.
"Daddy usually lets me have three cookies, I want a cookie Mama", Natalia was busy rating me out to my wife. "He does, doesn't he?", she said with a knowing smile. Come on, who can say no to Nat? have you seen how adorable she is and don't let me start on the puppy dog eyes. "In my defence, she gave me the puppy dog eyes", "No I did not", she said with a giggle making everyone laugh. "Shush! Both of you", Nikki said playfully making me smile. "You can have one cookie, just one", she said handing a cookie to a happy Natalia.
"Babe we have a situation outside", I whispered while holding on to her waist, hoping that the other ladies didn't hear. I was glad they weren't listening because they were too focused on taking pictures of us and talking about how adorable we looked. "Ok, let me put the chicken in the oven then I'll be right there", she suggested but I remained still, hoping she will get a hint of how urgent my situation was. "You can go I will put it in the oven for you", mother said making me smile at her as we walked out of the room.
