Karim was shouting about a certain customer that was not delivering products on time hence causing complaints in one of the supermarkets. Jax told him to calm down. "I can't fucking calm down, they cost me a lot of money. They are the ones who begged me to take them on board. You know what? drop them", he said and Mercy gasped. "Karim, you need to relax. Let me talk to them first", I chipped in making him turn to me as if he didn't know I was in the same room. "Fine. You have 48hrs then I'm done with this crap", he said walking out of the meeting room. "Good call, let me know if you need anything", Jax said following behind.
"Nikki, you have a visitor", my assistant told me as I got back to my office. I checked my schedule and I had nothing planned. "Ok", I said not knowing what to expect. Saad walked in. I don't remember when was the last time I saw him so I was surprised. "Saad! Hi... have a seat", I said nervously. "Thank you, Nikki. I'm sorry I came here unannounced", "It's no problem at all. Can I get you anything?", "No am alright. Thank you. I just wanted to speak to you about Inaya", my heart skipped a beat. It had been months since I heard her name. I've been avoiding the Qadir family all this time.
I chat with Zahra to check in on the baby, yes she gave birth to a baby boy, he is so cute and was named after Abdul and me, yes his name is Abni, and he is so chubby. "Saad, I don't think that is a good idea. Does she know you're here?", "No. But I just found out what happened from Amira and I just had to come and talk to you. I'm not here to defend her because I know she can be impulsive at times. I just need you to find a way to understand her. As much as she thinks she is doing the right thing, that is not true. She is hurting Abdul.
Fatima and Inaya have a bond that none of us can understand. When Hafeez was busy building the Qadir empire he was never home. The two only had each other, Fatima had to hold the family together, being both mother and father to her and the rest of her siblings. Fatima is her hero. I know you and Abdul love each other and I also know that he is hurting without you and the kids, but you have to understand that ever since you came into his life, he changed. I really wish I could say it was a bad thing but it wasn't. He has become a better man, uncle and brother. That change created a distance between him and his mother. Inaya doesn't hate you she hates the fact that you are hurting her mother. She is blinded by the need to please her and it does not matter who she has to hurt in the process. Nikki, what she did to you was unacceptable and I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I was too much of a coward to step in and tell her that she was wrong. It could have made a difference if I did. I'm sorry and I hope that you can forgive her. She is just another victim under Fatima's influence", he said making me smile.
"Saad, I forgave Inaya and Fatima a long time ago and that is why I accepted co-parenting with Abdul. So don't worry. I've moved on", I assured him. "Abdul hasn't. Inaya tried to reach out to him and he kicked her out of his house. He blames her and Fatima for ruining his life. He hasn't gone to work in months and Leo is struggling. Nikki, he needs you", Saad pleaded. This was the man that barely spoke to me and here he was trying to fix something that was not fixable at this point. To fix anything you need to know the cause, the source or why it's happening but I have no idea where to start. Hafeez worked hard for his empire and if talking to Abdul would help kick some sense into him then I was going to do it. "Look, I will try to talk to him", "That's all I ask. Thank you Nikki", he left me with so much to think about. Yes, I had blocked Abdul and the rest of his family except for Zahra. Anyone who wanted to know about the kids had direct access to Claire.
"Khaled, what are you doing here?", I asked Khaled when he came to my office. I had just gotten back from a meeting. He looked different, calmer. "Not even a 'hi'?", he said sitting on one of the visitor chairs. "Khaled, we're not friends so just get it over with. What do you want?", "Ok then. Look, I know we started on the wrong foot and I take full blame for it. I just want my friend to be happy and you are his happiness. I'm sorry I was a jerk to you", "Apology accepted, can you leave now?", I said focusing on my emails. "He's not the same without you Nikki", "Well that is what happens when you date gold diggers and whores", "Nikki, you are none of that and I know you're just saying that to push me away. Well I have news for you, I'm not leaving until you agree to meet with Abdul", he said pulling out his laptop.
Was he nuts? I had work to do and he was a distraction I could not afford to have. "Khaled, you need to leave", "Will you meet with Abdul or not?", I rolled my eyes making him smile. "Ok then. I guess I'm not going anywhere". He said returning his attention to his laptop. "Fine! Can you go now?", "Oh no, that is not how it works. If it's a yes then you and I have somewhere to be", he said standing up with an evil grin on his face. I called my assistant telling her that I was leaving for the day. We drove to what was once my home quietly. It looked different and felt different too. "Oh Nikki. I'm so sorry for what happened", Lucinda said hugging me, I hugged her back. "Where is he?", "In his bedroom, he hasn't eaten in days. I have tried everything", Lucinda said. I felt guilty in a way. "Ok let me try to talk to him", I said releasing a breath, suddenly getting anxious. "Please call Claire and tell her I will be spending the night here", I told Lucinda who smiled and Khaled looked proud of himself.
