This place is amazing. When Abdul told me we were going to a gaming lodge, I imagined tents and mosquitoes and grass everywhere not an actual villa with a swimming pool and chef and tour guide. It was just amazing. "Ok lovebirds you have two hours to freshen up and we will have dinner served by the pool at 8 pm sharp", our tour guide said. Abdul got us a room that was facing the lake, it was an amazing view. He was different though. More possessive, it was weird because we were with his friends and the last time I checked, he didn't have a problem with me holding hands or talking to any of them but I had a feeling something was bothering him. "Baby, is everything ok?", I asked as he unpacked our bags. "Yes why?", he asked not looking away from the bag. I walked towards him dragging him to a chair that was next to the bed. "Baby, tell me the truth", I said looking into his eyes.
"I want to adopt the twins", I blinked a few times. "What? Are you sure? Will your mother approve of this?", I asked kneeling in front of him. I couldn't move. He held my face in his hands, "Babe, I just told you, I want to be the father of your kids and all you could think about was what my mother would say?", he asked with a smile on his face. "Yes, what else was I supposed to be worried about?", I asked not getting why he was smiling while this was going to destroy his remaining relationship with his mother. "How about asking me, if I'll be a good father to the twins or love them as mine or something", he said looking worried. It was my turn to smile. "Why should I be worried when that is all that you've been doing baby? The connection you have with Natalia and Nathan is more than I could ever dream of. You are the best thing that has ever happened to us Abdul. I thank god every day for you baby. I love you so much and I can guarantee that you will be the best stepfather to my children", I said pulling him in a kiss, he pulled back suddenly looking into my eyes.
"Babe is that a yes?", he asked and I nod my head with a smile. He stood up rushing to his bag then returned to me. He had a ring on his finger, and my eyes went wide with shock, "I planned this whole amazing dinner but I can't wait. Nikki Edwards will you marry me?", he said with a huge smile on his face. "Yes baby, I'll marry you", I replied with my eyes watering. He put the ring on my finger and then kissed me so hard that we fell on the floor with him hovering over me, I giggled making him smile. "You're an amazing woman Nikki. I will spend the rest of my life loving and spoiling the hell out of you", he said kissing my neck, making me moan. "Hey guys, dinner is ready so stop eating each other and let's go... Abdul let her go!", Renee demanded making me laugh as she pulled my hand. "Wife, would you let the man get some? It's kind of unfair considering no one interfered with our alone time", Greyson said leaning on the door. Abdul pulled back after giving me a final kiss.
"Is that what I think it is?", Renee asked looking at my finger. "Hell yeah! It's about damn time", Greyson cheered pulling him in for a bro hug. "What's with all the noise?", Khaled asked walking in with a blushing Angela. "They're getting married", Renee shouted and it was like Khaled was shocked. "That's awesome man! Congrats... Nikki", he said nodding his head from the door. Angela walked up to me with a smile on his face. "Hey, uh! congratulations", she said nervously. "Thank you, Angela. What do you say we let bygones be bygones?", I said offering her a handshake but she went for a hug. I hugged her back. We had a history that was worth forgiving for, besides I would have done the same if I was in her situation.
We had dinner and then settled for watching the stars. Abdul told Renee to take some photos for us which he sent to the family WhatsApp group. It had everyone except his mother and Inaya. Yap, it was Zahra's idea. I imagined her face after seeing the pictures. "These are nice", Abdul whispered as he tilted the phone so that I could see it too. They were indeed cute. I could not wait to spend the rest of my life with this man. We went to bed around midnight and he didn't let me sleep until the early hours of the morning. I was feeling sore, tired and sleepy, things that he took full responsibility for, making me smile as I fell asleep on his panting chest. We had no strength left to wake up and take a shower so we went for sleeping as we were.
The weekend was amazing and it sort of brought us closer as friends. I was happy that I had people that were going to be there for me and Abdul. We agreed that we were going to have a court wedding and as for Natalia and Nathan, despite getting his name they were going to remain in their religion until they chose otherwise. I was so happy, smiling all the time and so was he.
"Surprise!!!!", people screamed when we got home. Abdul came clean right after, he had to plan the party with Zahra and Amira since he ruined the one he was supposed to do in the gaming lodge before. It was a nice gathering with everyone there except the usual. We ate cake and danced and later sat with the twins telling them that Abdul was going to be their father, officially. They were so happy and it warmed my heart to see that my kids finally got someone who would move mountains for them. He took them to bed while I freshened up then came to join me an hour later no doubt they made him read a story. It's what they liked to do when they had too much sugar. Claire tried to make them stop eating cake but they went to Hafeez and did puppy dog eyes making him give in, as simple as that. The man had no idea how to say no to his grandkids and my kids were no different.
