[POV: You're Moonlight Cookie.
Ok jokes aside this one's pretty bad and kinda short so sorry about that TT.
For this story, the reader is a legendary and uses they/them pronouns. This is because I felt like the story would work better like that and the reader's gender wasn't specified.
With that said, hope you enjoy!]
—————————————————————————The sound of the light breeze hit your ears as you approached the seaside. It was a beautiful night. The sky was clear, leaving the moon to shine a brilliant glow over the ocean. The way the waves caught the light made it look like the water had a layer of jewels over it all.
But of course, it wasn't just the view you were came to see. You were there to see the most beautiful jewel of them all, your beloved.
The only issue was that you didn't really where she would be, assuming she was there at all. It's been many years since you last saw her, and you've been searching for her ever since you've awakened. She's always been around the ocean, so that's the first place you decided to look.
Yet, the ocean was vast. It's taken you a year so far, and you haven't found her. You could only hope she was nearby.
As you walked, you saw a bit of splashing in the water. You looked, but whatever it was didn't resurface. You shrugged and continued walking the seaside, chalking it up to either your imagination or a small fish.
But, at certain points, the splashes continued, and started to realize it was a signal of some kind. With a bit of caution, you approached the shore.
From the water, a shark with greenish blue fins lifted their head above the water's surface.
"Hey, you're Y/n Cookie right?" The shark asked you, with a voice that sounded like a preteen's at the oldest.
"Yes, that's me." You replied, plenty of questions running through your head. This shark, knew your name? How on Earthbread..?
"That's awesome! Ms. Sea Fairy was looking for you!" Upon hearing the name they said, your eyes lit up. Could they actually know her?! "Here, my friend left a boat somewhere close by. I'll lead you to her! My name's Sorbet Shark Cookie by the way!"
"Wow, uh, thank you." You said. "I'm ever so grateful for your help."
"It's no problem! Ms. Sea Fairy's been waiting for you for a long time." Sorbet Shark replied. "We shouldn't keep her waiting any longer, let's go find the boat Mango left here!"
It didn't take very long for the two of you to find it, and within ten minutes you were out at sea, following Sorbet Shark to where they said she was waiting for you. You could barely keep in your excitement, this reunion was long overdue.
"Ok, we're here!" Sorbet Shark said after a while of swimming. "This is where she said she'll be!"
You looked up at the location, a small island with a crystal clear beach and a large cave that lead underwater. You smiled, this was the exact type of place you two would go together all those years ago.
"Thank you so much, Sorbet Shark was it?" You said to the shark cookie. "I think I'll be able to find her from here. I'm so grateful for your help."
"It's no problem Mx. Y/n!" Sorbet Shark replied. They waved goodbye to you before swimming away. You smiled a bit to yourself, wondering if one day you would be able to see them again.
But for now, there was no time to waste. You turned back to the island and started paddling over to shore. Sorbet Shark said she would be there, and you were all too excited to see her again.
Upon reaching the shore, you looked around, trying to figure out where she could be. The island wasn't very big, and knowing her, she would probably be in the cave. You quickly headed over there, filled with excitement.
The cave wasn't very far, so it didn't take very long to get there. And you were glad it didn't. Standing in the middle of the cave, facing the water, was a cookie with long, flowing blue hair that resembled the ocean itself. She was wearing a long, sea blue dress with white frills, and had a shell hair accessory. In her hand was a small sword the same color as her dress. One look, and you recognized her immediately.
"Sea Fairy?"
"Y/n?" Upon hearing your voice, Sea Fairy turned around, her cyan eyes lit up. "Y/n... you really came back."
"Of course I would. I'd never leave you for anything."
"I know but, it's just been so long..."
"It has, but we're finally together now. And I couldn't be happier about that."
"Neither could I."
You walked up to Sea Fairy, taking her side as you wrapped you arm around her waist. She gave you a soft smile and put her head on your shoulder. For the rest of the night, the two of you just stay there, cuddled up beside each other, simply enjoying each others company after so long of being apart.
