————Having Kushida and Hirata convince the class to study was probably the best thing we could have done. Students immediately listened to them, even the ones who seemed they hated studying the most. When someone you put a lot of trust in is telling you something that could save you, you will trust them.
Some students were apprehensive when they heard Horikita would be helping with tutoring, but they calmed down when they heard Kushida would be helping. In fact, they were even more excited when they heard that.
The study group was going to meet in the library tomorrow, and study all day after class, for the test the next day. Me and Katagiri had our own mission, and not one I was very ecstatic about.
In turn for Kushida helping convince the class to study, we would help her become friends with Horikita. A task that seemed impossible. But maybe Kushida could even break Horikita down.
I had my doubts on her motives, and so did Katagiri.
We were on our way to Kushida's room to discuss tomorrow.
"I guess it really is her task to make friends with everyone in our class."
Katagiri wore a black shirt with black and white platted pajama pants. I wore my uniform."I don't mean to offend Horikita, but would anyone go this far to become her friend?"
It was a fair question. It was surprising to see one of the most popular people in our class, better yet the school, wanting to become friends with a loner."Maybe she actually likes Horikita."
Katagiri contained a scoff.
"They haven't had one interaction though. And if they had, this probably wouldn't be happening."
He said as he rung her door bell.We both looked down at ourselves, and realized at the same time, that it was late, and we were going to a girls room.
"At least you wore a uniform."
"I need to buy more clothes."
I hadn't bought mush else other than the necessities for the past month."Welcome!"
Kushida quickly opened the door, and invited us in.
"Pardon the intrusion..."
Katagiri trailed off when he saw the slight mess in the room, and the decorations.
They were a lot of posters, different from our rooms."You can sit on the bed or the floor! What would you like to drink? Tea?"
We both immediately sat on the floor. "Tea would be great."
"Okay, just a minute!"I wished Kushida would be a little quieter, the girls in the other rooms could probably hear her.
"So um...this is to talk about you becoming friends with Horikita right?"Katagiri tried to talk quietly to Kushida, but she didn't catch on.
"Yep!"
"So what exactly do you want us to do? I just want to get back to our rooms soon."
I nodded to agree with him.Kushida gave us both tea and sat on her bed. Her legs were hardly covered, so me and Katagiri looked at posters around the room.
"Well...I want you to set us together for a while. I will ask her for extra help, and you will tend to other students so I can talk to her for longer.""Okay, we can do that," I said.
"Great!"The conversation was over, but we continued to sit in silence. Neither me or Katagiri could look at Kushida, and it became awkward. Until Katagiri spoke up.
"Uh we should probably..."
"Would you guys like to watch something?"
"Uh..sure."
I nodded while still looking at the poster. It felt hard to refuse Kushida right now.

Last night, we ended up staying at Kushida's for another hour and watched a movie on the TV. I hadn't seen it, and it was hard to concentrate on what was happening. It was after class, and I headed towards the library with Katagiri. We had purposefully come later.
Horikita walked over to us, we saw everyone sitting at one big table in the library. Not everyone came though.
"You two are late."
"On purpose," said Katagiri
"Why?"
"Nothing, where is everyone?"
"This is everybody that came. Cant help the people who refuse it. I will do all I can here. You two help as well."We both nodded and she walked away. I only saw one girl from another class in the library. I hovered over a few kids, unsure of what to do. We had been told to help, but Horikita was tutoring Sudo, and we were not told to help with that.
I nodded to Katagiri, and he nodded back.
"Kushida, do you need help?"
Horikita looked up, and took the bait.
"Kushida shouldn't need much help Katagiri.""Uh...actually I could use help with this."
She pointed to something, and Horikita walked over.
"Ayanokoji, help Sudo. Katagiri, help anyone who needs it."She looked at what Kushida was pointing at, and I went over to Sudo.
The plan had worked.
——
Well, it seemed it had.
Horikita walked over to Katagiri, Kushida's book in hand.
I continued to help Ike because I finished with Sudo, while listening.
"Kushida already knows this. If your going to plan something, do it better."
"What? Maybe she needs help with it though, how would you know?"Horikita got more angry. "I know exactly what Kushida needs to know, and she didn't even ask me about the problem, she kept asking personal questions."
No, Kushida. This was your plan, and this is where something should have begun. You shouldn't have tried to close the deal here with someone like Horikita.
"Here. You help her then."
She slammed the book in Katagiri's chest and walked over to someone else.
Katagiri looked over to Kushida, who seemed sad. I put my head down and avoided eye contact with Horikita. The test was tomorrow, and I had to wonder, was everyone really prepared?
