After leaving the pool yesterday, me and Katagiri made plans to meet with Horikita and Kushida.
Horikita didn't seem keen on the idea of letting Kushida in our group, but Katagiri convinced her, in his own way.We made the point that Kushida had good academic ability, and she might be good in our group. And, if we needed to, we could sell her.
She agreed after that, because Horikita didn't really seem to like anyone, she didn't look like she had a problem selling Kushida if we needed to.
I got a message as I was heading to the mall after class.Update on the rules of the special exam:
Only one person a group can gamble at one time, two people in one group can not gamble at the same time in different games or the same game.
If there are less than five people in a group, than to sell someone, the majority has to agree.
When there are five people in a group, four people have to agree. It seemed they found some holes. This would work in our favor. I met Katagiri outside of the mall.
"Hey."
"Is Horikita here?"
"She's inside."I peered through the window to see Horikita sitting in the coffee shop.
"Are we waiting for Kushida?"
"No, I just wanted to make sure everything was set."We had discussed what we were going to do to get through this exam the day it was announced. Tonight, I was going to make a move.
"It should be fine."He nodded and we went inside.
There was already coffee on the table, and me and Katagiri both looked down at it with out sitting down.
"What?" Asked Horikita.
"I just don't feel like doing any favors."She glared at him before saying, "It's fine, you can say this is a thank you for helping find members and joining my group."
"Okay..."
We sat down, and we saw Kushida walk in.
Horikita got up to guide her to our table.
Katagiri slowly took a sip of the coffee, while looking at Horikita. She guided Kushida to our table, and they both sat down across from us.
"Hey guys!"
"Hey."Katagiri put down his cup slowly, expecting Horikita to ask him for something, but she held back.
"Anyway, I talked to you about this yesterday Kushida, right?""Yes, you want me to join your group right, for the exam?"
All three of us nodded.
"Okay! I can do that! Do you have another member? Other than you three?"She agreed immediately, and I had a hunch why. Katagiri seemed slightly angry, but I doubt they could see it.
"I actually told someone else to come today."
"What?"
Horikita seemed confused at my statement, but that was expected. Only me and Katagiri knew who was coming. He had given me their number at the pool, before leaving to run after Ryuuen. Something he and I had planned."Hello everyone."
Everyone looked to the person I had invited.
It was Chiaki Matsushita.
—
Before even asking her anything, she seemed to already know what was happening.
"Do you want me to join your group?"
She had a wide smile on her face. I honestly couldn't tell what her response would be.
Katagiri spoke up.
"Yes, I think you should join our group Chiaki. I think with you, we could win easily."
She looked around at everyone at the table, before nodding her head a few times.
"I think this would work out great. My friends and Kei will probably be mad, but I would rather win then risk getting in last."Chiaki immediately agreed. She probably had planned to ask us anyway.
Well, we knew she had.
Getting her in our group, was an important move we had to make."Okay then. Despite not being warned about this, I think it would be great if you could join our group. Starting now, I am the commander of this group, and we will work together to win."
She glared at Katagiri for not telling her about the new member, but he just smiled and sipped his drink."Ayanokoji, are you good at gambling?" asked Kushida.
Everyone looked to me except Katagiri.
"I've never tried it, but maybe I can learn."
"The teacher said there would be directions in each game room, or if we're doing a different game everyone should already know the rules.""What about you Chiaki?"
Chiaki smiled and said, "I'm confident that I can read my opponent's and win."
Horikita seemed happy to hear that answer. At least we had one person who had a chance. But there was another reason we picked Chiaki.
"Okay, we can disband here. We'll meet tomorrow at the exam location and after officially forming the group, we'll work out a plan."
Everyone got up to leave. I will let Horikita do what she can, but if everything went well tonight, our victory would almost be guaranteed.
—
In the morning, me and Katagiri made our way down the elevator. We both had bags and we were both wearing casual cloths. As we made our way down, he asked an unexpected question.
"Would you consider us friends?"It caught me off guard.
"I think so."
"I guess I would to. Do you ever think we'll be enemies?"The elevator doors opened.
"Maybe. Hopefully not."Everyone was surrounding the lockers, murmuring.
Me and Katagiri opened our lockers slowly, looking at the other people talking.
I found a note in mine. I opened it, and it read:Honami Ichinose and Shiho Sawaragi are lesbians.
