Chapter 33: A meeting to end the Exam

(Ayanokoji POV)

I'm about halfway to my next meeting spot.

Five members of Class B are waiting for me, they are where Class D started this exam. The Ichinose group.

No one told me they wanted to meet me there, this is all based on guesswork. I assume that Shinomiya Kei figured out the system of the island just like I did, and decided to go to where we started after he found out we found his classes hider. Based on what I already know about him though, he probably knew that was inevitable.

Why would he come to meet me? It is most likely because he wants to cut a deal so both our classes can benefit and get out of this exam with no loss.

I don't particularly feel like negotiating today, so I'll have to end that quickly.

The sun starts to set, and I finally make it to the hillside where our class started at.

I can see all five of their group members sitting. Waiting for me.

For now, I have to put my trust in Suzune Horikita. What happens right here, right now, depends on her own feats.
(A/N: Stupid auto correct corrected this to "feets"   the first time which made this line feel really weird. I hope any reader before the update got that Ayanokoji was not talking about feet. It was feats, like achievements.)

No matter the outcome, this meeting will end this part of the exam, within the next 2 hours.

"Hello, Kitotaka Ayanokoji."

Kei immediately notices my presence even though I walked up quietly. All other members get up quickly and move to get beside him.

"What are you guys doing here?"

For now, I'll wait and see if she comes.

Kei picks up on my attitude for this conversation and follows.

"Just looking for you. We wanted to talk to you."

Ichinose has been staring me up and down since she noticed my arrival. Studying me. Seeing if I'm like Katagiri Yuuichi.

"How did you know I would be here?"

Kei opens his mouth to answer, but Shiho interrupts.

"Kei brought us here. Can you please tell us what's going on?"

She is antsy and clearly holds something against me. Everyone but Kei looks at me in disgust.

I guess letting Yuuichi take the credit really didn't have any effect.

Kei is grinning, waiting for my answer.

I shrug. "The sunset looks really beautiful from over the hills."

"... beautiful..?"

They all turn around to look at the sunset. Except for Kei, who keeps his eyes locked on me.

"...I guess you're right, but can you please tell us why we're here?"

I guess my nice way of stalling didn't work. It might be time to sink down to his level.

There's something I noticed about the Ichinose group in the first part of the exam, something I learned after just a little watching.

I truly didny think anything of it at the time, but since it's the only card I have left to stall here, I might have to be a little evil. I wonder what he would say.

I turn to the girl behind Ichinose, she looks rather scared and confused right now.

She notices my glance, and I speak to her.
