I woke from the sun filtering through my windows and into my small apartment I rented in Emon. Getting out of the little twin bed that I slept on uncomfortably might I add, I stripped off my night clothes and changed into my daily outfit, gray leggings with a white skirt that falls over them with a white long top that was accompanied with a brown leather corset. I put metal armor over my right arm, I then brushed my platinum blonde hair out before tying it in the back leaving a few strands to frame my face. I put a blade in a thigh sheath on my right leg, attached my rapier to my hip on the left side, and put my bow over my shoulder to hang off my back, along with my quiver. Heading out of the tiny apartment I headed down into the busy streets of Emon bellow walking up to one of the billboards where they put jobs up to see if there was anything I could do for some quick cash when I noticed that the palace had put up their own sign. They wanted Mercenaries specifically asked for by Sovereign Uriel and the Tal'Dorie counsel. Taking the flyer, I made my way to the palace rolling it up and tucking it under my arm as I made my way up the steps to the guards... and a bear in armor?

"Hello, lads I've come to answer the flyer," I said holding up the piece of parchment paper, "may I please be let through."

The guards nodded before letting me through the door, I walked down the grand marble walkway towards where the council sat. As I got closer, I noticed a group of seven. The conversation that was commencing stopped when Sovereign Uriel noticed me walking towards all of them, causing the group to be confused and turn towards me when they heard my footsteps.

"O-Ophelia?" The very familiar looking white haired one with glasses said in shock as he stared at me causing the others to look at him confused.

"You know someone that hot?" A Gnome bard dressed in purple said surprised and shocked at that fact alone.

"Percy, my lo.. darling, who knew I'd run into you again." I said with a small smile as I came to stand by the group taking a better look at them. There seemed to be three half-elf's, two gnomes, a goliath, and Percy, how interesting. Two half-elf's looked similar one was a rogue and the other was a ranger, the third half-elf seemed to be a druid, the purple dressed gnome was obviously a bard as previously stated, the other one looked to be a cleric, the goliath looked to be a barbarian, and Percy from the look on the gun on his side became a gunslinger.

"What are you doing here Lia?" Percy asked using my nickname as he took a step closer to me.

"Same reason as you lot, I suspect, to answer the flyer." I said and turned my attention to Sovereign Uriel, curtsying in respect before speaking to him. "I am allowed to also come and answer this am I not?"

"You are, young girl, but we wouldn't recommend going alone. This monster is a hard and very dangerous one." He replied.

"She can come with us then." Percy said next to me surprising me as I turned to him, obviously he surprised his group too because they were looking at him confused.

"Percy, you don't need to do that." I said softly putting my hand on his arm earning a small glare from the female half-elf ranger in blue.

"You will not be going against that creature alone, please, join us." Percy said putting his other hand over my own the warmth causing butterflies in my stomach, something I hadn't felt in a long time.

"Alright..." I say softly and turn to Sovereign Uriel, "If you allow it sir, I would like to help these adventurers on this mission, most of the prize can still be their's I will only take a small amount."

"Very well, you're hired, Vox Machina. Mainly because I like the bear, and Ophelia is a great mercenary herself. Lady Allura will accompany you to the Shale Steps, the village closest to the last attack." Sovereign Uriel decreed.
