It took us almost several days to travel back to Emon. To say we were tired was an understatement, but we marched on and eventually made it to the capital. Heading up the steps we left Trinket outside as we headed into the palace stopping behind Fince an elf councilman as he was finishing speaking.

"Seems your band of fools have gone missing. Safe to say you've sent Vox Machina to their doom?" Fince asked staring at General Krieg

"Doom? We don't know the meaning of the word." Scanlan said loudly making me snicker slightly.

"Uh, I certainly don't" Grog said.

"Sovereign, hold on to your goddamn crown. We've discovered that the monster is none other than a blue dragon!" Scanlan said dramatically pointing at the council.

"We know." The council said.

"Did you kill it?" Lady Allura asked.

"I wouldn't say 'kill,' really." Keyleth said nervously with a slight chuckle.

"We're still kind of working on that part." Pike said

"I can't believe you made it out alive." General Krieg said laughing, it seemed to be like he was favoring his leg, barely noticeable but still there. "How did you survive?"

"Mm, trade secrets, I'm afraid, Kriegy." Scanlan said making me roll my eyes.

"Not like it was luck that saved us." I whispered quietly to Percy who smirked in amusement slightly.

"We hid and it flew away." Percy said out loud making me have to hold back a laugh at the way Scanlan looked at Percy.

Grog laughed before realizing what Percy said then stopped saying, "Wait. How did we survive that?"

"These blabbering fools are useless, sire. Perhaps if we made an offering to the dragon." Fince said speaking up again. "Gold in exchange for peace?"

"Why don't we shake its hand and offer it a fucking pint." I said rolling my eyes earning me an elbow in the ribs from Percy.

"A dragon cannot be bartered with." Vex said stepping forward. "If it desires Emon's destruction, it will not relent."

"You hear her, sire. You know what must be done." General Krieg said turning back to Sovereign Uriel.

"But what if it attacks the city? We'd be sitting ducks." Lady Kima said turning to Sovereign Uriel herself.

"What would you have me do? Let it burn more farmland, slaughter more innocents? No. We will bring the fight to it on our terms." Sovereign Uriel said as he stood from his throne, "General, you may move our soldiers at dawn."

"But sire, you know as..." Lady Kima tried to interject.

"I have made my decision, Lady Kima." Sovereign Uriel said facing her. "This council is adjourned."

"Alright you heard him, clear out." A soldier said as a couple of them walked towards us getting ready to kick us out of the throne room.

"Hey, hey, hands off. I'm leaving. Geez" Pike said as we got pushed out.

"Uh, don't kill it before we do." Scanlan said looking around the soldiers. "Y-Your offer's still on the table, right?" He didn't get an answer as we were officially kicked out of the main meeting area, and to the side I noticed two soldiers petting Trinket and pull away quickly like nothing happened.

"I felt it again, that same feeling I had," Vex said as we circled around in a group facing her. "Around the dragon. There must be a connection. One of them is working with that fucker."
