"Okay.. So roti for three, chapati for two, one of them isn't in his best health, so less salt and spices. Biryani as the main course and Gulab jamun as dessert. Alright? " repeats Sadia patiently.

This is Asad's fourth call from morning, and with every call a new menu was being decided, challenging Sadia's capability of forbearance.

Noor looks at her with apologetic eyes, noting down how her mother's expressions change. She looks tired, she would be doing her work and then the calls puts all her efforts in vain yet the sparkle in her eyes would return while talking to Asad.

What is this foolishness? Love?
To not consider one's own self and look into the happiness of other only to be let down?

"Nahyan!! Rush to the store downstairs and bring me curd. Quick! " calls out Sadia sounding rather irritated.

And...no! I wouldnt do this foolishness.

Noor briskly walks from rooms to rooms dusting beds to brooming the floor. Occasionally getting amused at finding things like broken pencils and Nahyan's lost socks which she thought she had lost forever.

She changes the flowers in the vase and the covers of pillows on sofa.
Curtains are changed to white with painted purple florals. Seeing flowers, her thoughts travel to Abeeha's words, which she quickly brushes away not ready to dig deeper.

Asad smiles at Noor as he enters through the open door of the house. He looks at Sadia who is busy, not sparing a glance. A small spark of hope ignites in Noor's heart when he walks towards Sadia.

Surprised at her husband's rare entry into kitchen, her eyes warm and the crease on her forehead sets to ease.

Bringing the spoon to his mouth,"how does it taste? "

Slurping in, Asad's eyebrows shoots up and he grins, nodding his head implying that he loves it.

Maybe that's what ammi lives for.. Small moments.
But are those enough..?

As the sun dips in, the arrival of guests is welcomed by the moon. While the three are busy with them, Noor silently slips into her room enjoying the solitude of silence.

She stares into nothingness, looking for something. Solace.. but that is interrupted when her mind crawls into the deep chamber and brings forth a memory...

The clouds clash in the dark sky expressing it's fierce anger to the view on land. With every lightning, there is pharse which competes with the voices down on earth.
