"Shireen, talk to Abeeha again. "
She looks at her husband Nadeem while hanging his clothes in the closet. His forehead wrinkled in worry and somehow his eyes, pleading.
"About what? Tell her to get married again? Haven't I done it ? "
He rubs the sides of his forehead, "how long will she mourn for a someone who wasn't worth it? "
Sitting beside and taking his hand she says, "some people just tend to take time. Moreover Nadeem, she liked him."
"Is a year not enough? "
"Perhaps it's not for her. Let's wait till Al Jabbar mends her heart."
He sighs, grips her fingers tighter and brings them close to his forehead, closing his eyes. Her hands are cold or maybe the thinking has made his head warm.
"What's wrong?"
"A proposal came for Wafa.. "
"That's.. nice. Should we think about it? "
"And then they cancelled it. "
"Another one will come, don't fret on it. "
He looks up at her, "why do you never ask 'why'? "
"Because I know. "
"Why do my children have to suffer? What did they even do? Were there any sins of mine which has come as a punishment to my kids? After Wafa, there is Maryam."
"It's all Qadr, Nadeem. I'm sure there is better written. And it's a long long way for Maryam . "
"Wafa is strong. "
"Thats because she knows Abeeha isn't at fault. The fault lies in the way people think. Allah, you and I know the whole story, why worry about people who accuse based on groundless rumours?"
"I pray Abeeha gets all that she deserves, all the goodness and so do both of my daughters."
"Ameen. Now sleep, you have to wake up early. "
Nodding, he lies down pulling the blanket to himself while Shireen grabs the empty bottle from the table and walks to unlock the door.
When she does so, she finds Abeeha standing infront.
