When we arrived back to Ninjago, we took Alex to Mistake's tea shop. She fixed him right up, but he still had to take some time to heal. We all did. Violet, Amber and I all stepped outside for some air. We had to wait a bit while Mistake attended to Alex. I leaned against the door and the girls sat at a table.
"Y'all think Alex is gonna be alright?" Violet asked.
"Yeah, he's a tough dude." I replied.
Amber said nothing and just fidgeted with her hands. There she was again, showing no emotions towards the team.
"You gonna just sit there and say nothing? Maybe something positive would be cool," I said while looking at the sky.
She rolled her eyes.
"What do you want to hear?" she asked sarcastically.
"Really? Don't play dumb with me."
She pushed her chair back and stood up.
"You do know that not everything is sunshine and rainbows, right?"
I looked at her.
"No duh! It wouldn't kill you to at least care about us,"
She walked over to me and stared at me.
"You don't know half the story Daren. You need to learn to shut up and mind your own damn business."
I walked closer to her, and we were right in each other's faces.
"Back off before I shut you up. Or did you forget the first time we met and how I showed you guys why you all don't belong on this team?"
She pushed her hand into my chest, and I hit it away.
"Amber that's enough!" Violet yelled.
She stood up and placed her hand on her shoulder. She pushed it away and walked back.
"This was a mistake."
She then pulled down her hood and walked away. Violet looked at me and she punched my arm.
"Ow" I said as she walked back inside.
About an hour later we walked back to the monastery with Alex. His wound had healed up a lot. Wu was waiting there for us, he said he had something to discuss.
"Man, that was crazy," Alex said.
"What was?" I asked.
"I don't know, just everything I guess,"
"To think we'd be saving the city from an evil guy leading an army of skeletons, it's just crazy to think of everything that happened." Violet chimed in.
I nodded. When we arrived back to the monastery, we only saw Wu waiting. I though Amber was going to be here.
"Hey where's Amber?" Violet asked.
Wu walked over to us and sighed.
"She is going to be taking a little break from being on the team. She told me that there are matters she needs to take care of before returning."
We all looked at each other. I was starting to feel kind of bad for yelling at her earlier. Did she leave because of that?
"Do you know when she is coming back?" violet asked.
"Soon"
Violet looked at Wu. Something wasn't right. She could tell that there was more to it. We all walked inside, stored our weapons, and then changed into normal clothes. I grabbed my black sweatshirt and headed to the living room. Well, it was just a room with a long couch and a TV, so I guess it was a living room. I stared at the TV, thinking about stuff. Violet then sat next to me with a pint of Ice cream.
"A sweatshirt?" she asked.
I saw that she was wearing shorts. Maybe it was cause I'm the fire ninja, but the mild heat didn't really affect me.
"Not my fault you can't handle the heat," I responded.
She rolled her eyes and smiled.
"Speaking of heat you can't handle, I have arrived,"
Alex jumped over the couch and sat on my left. He handed me a soda. We sat there for a while, just talking and passing the time. Eventually the sun had begun to set. I told them I'd see them in a bit and went to our bedroom. I sat down on my bed and reached under my pillow. I pulled out the map that started this whole adventure. It was the original one I found back at the blacksmith shop. I should probably head there tomorrow to check up on Kai and Nya. I had no doubt that Kai was taking good care of her. I reached under the pillow and reached for the map that Wu had given me with the other weapons, but it wasn't there. I must have put it somewhere else.
"Whatcha looking for?"
I looked to my right and saw violet leaning against the door frame of the bathroom.
"When did you get here?"
I was startled from the sudden appearance. She joined me, sat next to me and looked at the map.
"I bet you'll find them,"
I looked up at her and she smiled. Then I felt a hand on my right shoulder. Alex sat next to me.
"Jesus, you guys need to announce when you get here or something,"
He laughed.
" So, I guess it's just the three of us for now," he said.
"Yep, but we got this" Violet said.
I looked at my team and couldn't help but smile. I put my arms around them both. I knew this city was going to need more saving in the future, but I also knew that we were capable of doing so. I'm sure we had many more adventures waiting for us. Whatever it was, we would be ready.
"Oh hey, so I was thinking of a catch phrase we could all say."
