I put down the map I had in my hands when we made it to our destination, The raging river. This is where we would find Violet's golden weapon. The large body in front of me led to a forgotten temple deep below. I walked back to the rest of the team. They were gathered around Violet. She passed out tanks of oxygen. They were meant to keep us breathing for one hour while we're underwater. When we made it back to the monastery we had changed into different versions of our suits. Violet had designed suits specifically for an underwater adventure. They were pretty flexible and of course each of our suits had our colors. We attached the tanks to our backs, and they led to the back of our helmets. The visors were a light blue color, but Amber took care of the vision part of the suits. They're supposed to let us see pretty well underwater. We also had special gloves that let us grip our weapons well. At our feet there were small flippers, they wouldn't get in our way to walk on the floor of the temple.
"Everyone ready?" I asked.
"Yea, but I've always hated swimming." Alex said.
"Well at least this time we're getting a cool weapon from swimming" Violet replied.
Amber adjusted her visor and shrugged. She grabbed her shuriken and made her way to the edge of the sandy floor that led to the river.
"Alrighty then, I guess she still doesn't like us," Alex said.
We all grabbed our weapons and followed Amber to the water. She went in first and we followed. We began to swim once the floor disappeared beneath us. I pressed a button on the left of my helmet and my visor lit up. I was able to see everything pretty clearly now, so thanks Amber. Everyone did the same. I could see bunches of coral and little fish swimming around us. It was pretty cool to be underwater.
"Hey Violet, are you excited to get your weapon?" I asked.
"Yep, besides this whole Ninja thing is pretty cool so a weapon that is focused on just my element is gonna be awesome." She replied.
Amber was really pulling through with the inventions. She made each of us a comlink so we could communicate from far distances. She also had a small device around her wrist that had a red dot blinking. It represented the temple. I looked at her wrist and it looked like we were pretty close to reaching it. It took us maybe ten-ish minutes before something happened. Amber had stopped.
"Is everything alright?" Alex asked.
"Yea? I don't know but i just hit something." She replied.
She reached out and her hand stopped at something. She was hitting something with her hand but for some reason whatever was in front of her wasn't visible. She placed both hands on the invisible wall and felt around for a minute. Then she stopped. Her hand disappeared for a split second. She had found some sort of opening in the wall.
"I read about this in one of the books in Wu's library. Specific types of entrances to these types of places require an elemental's hand to enter. Violet, come here,"
Violet swam towards her, and Amber grabbed her hand. She placed it in the opening and moved back.
"Alright, just go for it," she said.
"Wait what? Is there a specific thing I have to do?"
"I don't know, just figure it out. This is your element by the way."
She rolled her eyes and felt around the opening. She felt a lever, grabbed it, and pulled it down, but it didn't do anything. Then she closed her eyes and gripped the lever. She swam in place for solid minute without saying anything.
"Is something supposed to happen?" Alex asked
Then something did happen. Violet's arm was engulfed by some type of elemental energy. The water around us felt as if it was shaking back and forth. A few feet to the right of her, some type of stone was now visible. It looks like that invisible wall was opening up and revealing what was behind it. An entrance to the temple. A dark hallway had appeared. The walls were made out of one type of stone and the space led into a dark abyss. Violet had let go of the lever and joined the three of us. Our lights in our visors weren't that strong since we were basically at the floor of the river, and it was surprisingly deep.
