"Alright, you guys ready?" I asked.
Everyone nodded as we reached the strange skeleton vehicle. The framing of the motorcycle was obviously shaped like a skeleton with one big wheel in the front and two small ones in the back. It conveniently had enough room for the four of us. I sat in the drivers' seat and the others found room around me. I never said it was comfortable though. I looked at the driving mechanisms and saw that it wasn't too different from a regular motorcycle. Although, instead of two handlebars, there was only one stick to control the speed on my righthand side. A handle for the breaks in front of me and some other buttons on my left.
"So, who else is nervous?" I asked, still looking at the control panel.
"You gonna chicken out already Daren?" Amber asked.
"Alright then, let's save our sensei,"
I grabbed the bar on my right and slowly pushed it forward. The cycle let out flames from its exhaust pipes in the back and it sped forward. The speed dial had already reached 50 mph just from a small push. I continued to push it forward and the others quickly held on to anything they could grab. The dial reached 80 mph. The path we were on was long and had no turns, so we had enough road for the speed we wanted to reach. I looked at the control panel and saw three red ones labeled from 1-3 and read speed under them. Well, that was helpful. I pushed the first one and we immediately reached 120. I gave it a few seconds and pushed the second one. The engine roared as it reached 160. We all pulled down our Ninja wraps and held on tightly. Then I pushed the bar the furthest it could go and then hit the third button. 200! The surroundings around us all blurred together and everything tuned into streaks of blue and purple lines. In a blink of an eye the colors disappeared and turned dark. The dirt road turned into a rocky path. I looked around and saw floating rocks all around us. The place was dimly lit with torches that had purple fire.
"Daren watch out!" Alex shouted.
in the distance were a few other vehicles parked at the end of the road. I grabbed into the bar on my right side and slowly pulled it back. If I had pulled it quickly then the motorcycle would have sent us flying forward. The dial went back down to 180, then to 150. We were still going way too fast. I then grabbed the bar on my left and pulled it back at the same time. We slowed down to an even 100 but we were getting too close to the end of the road.
"Hold on," Alex said.
He slowly stood up and reached out his hands. He pointed them slightly down in front of the motorcycle and released two beams of wind. The speed lowered to 70. I gave both the bars a final pull and it slowed down just before we reached the vehicles in front of us. A few feet more and this would've ended badly. We all jumped out and looked around. The place looked huge. Alex said that Garmadon had some type of fortress. I had to assume that he was keeping Wu there. We gathered in a circle.
"What's the game plan?" Violet asked.
"We should split up."
"Uh sure. We're in a place screaming horror movie and you want us to split up?" Alex said.
"Yep. We have the commlinks Amber made so if anyone needs help just shout it." I explained.
"Alright. Amber and I will go find Wu." Violet chimed in.
Amber looked at her and gave an eye roll. That left Alex and I to find Garmadon. We all agreed to the plan, and we would split up once we found the fortress. The floating rocks were all connected by wooden bridges held by ropes. They did not feel sturdy when walking across them We passed by a building with some type of garage door? It must have been for their vehicles. A few rocks later and we saw a fortress in the distance. It had a big skull just above the entrance. There were a bunch of skeletons guarding the front and there were more at the rock across it. Luckily there were loads of crates and other things we could hide behind. A few skeletons headed our way, so we ran behind some boxes. They passed by and we continued to our destination. Two skeletons guarded the main gate while a few other were scattered around the front. We kneeled down behind some crates across from the gate.
"Alright, I'm going throw a fireball at them. Then we make a run for the gate. We should be able to make it before the skeletons can reach us," I explained.
The team nodded and I popped out from behind the crates.
"Hey boneheads!" I shouted.
The skeletons saw me. My rand hand lit up and I threw a ball of fire at one. I saw it fly past his head and into the wall behind him. I stood there for a solid second to process what just happened.
"You missed?" Amber said.
She shook her head and threw two balls of ice at the skeletons. We all booked it to the entrance. The skeletons on the rock saw us and they all shouted as they ran towards us. At least a dozen of them were chasing us. We all made it inside and I noticed a lever by the entrance. I quickly pulled it and a huge iron gate fell from above us and blocked off the skeletons from entering.
"Let's hurry up. They're going to find another way to reach us."
I put my hand in the middle of us and the others did the same.
"I feel like we need a catchphrase or something," Alex said.
"We'll think of one eventually. Alright Ninja, let's go," I said.
We raised our hands into the air, and we all went our separate ways.
