For the next hour, I explained to Wu about my suspicion of my missing uncle and aunt. I told him why I went looking for the golden weapon and how I believed that they would lead me to my uncle and aunt. He listened to all of it and didn't say anything until I was finished.
"So that's about it," I finished.
Wu told me to walk with him outside into the open space while Alex and Violet were left at a dining table with Amber. None of them spoke or looked at each other. It was obviously awkward, but no one said anything. Alex was only looking at his hands and Violet was tapping a beat on the wooden surface. Violet glanced over at Amber.
"You don't need your hands near your shuriken, we're not going to attack you," she said.
She pulled them away from her weapons and stared at Violet with anger. She could tell that Amber didn't like her.
"And you don't need to open your mouth whenever you feel like it," Amber replied.
That comment had triggered Violet and she stood up furiously. Alex was startled by her reaction. Amber stood up faster though and pulled out one of her shuriken. She brought one of the three tips and pointed it at Violet.
"What's the matter, are you going to cry?" asked Amber, giving her a smirk.
"I'm not going to be the one crying in a few seconds," Violet replied.
She pulled out both her Sai and held them out in front of her. She gripped the handles tightly as she stared at Amber. Then without hesitation, Amber swung her shuriken and Violet followed by swinging her Sai. A spark flew as the weapons made contact, but not with each other. In between their weapons was Alex's double scythe intercepting the attack. He had it extended over the table and the two pulled their weapons away. Alex did the same and he spoke up.
"Fighting is not going to solve anything between you two,"
"Oh, and you think that I like you now??" Amber replied.
"No, but let's not forget that we are not each other's enemies. We have a much bigger and fiercer evil to face."
"And now all of a sudden you're taking charge of what I can do??"
"Hey! Alex is right, we shouldn't be fighting each other," Violet said.
Violet looked at Amber and took a long pause. She then extended her arm towards her, hoping that they could put this little argument aside. Amber looked at her and laughed.
"You're pathetic," she said.
She walked away from the dining room and left.
"Why did you take the sword?" Wu asked.
We were outside talking while the rest were in the building. There was something very peaceful about this old man. The way he walked, with every step he looked so relax. He held his staff with a loose grip, so he wasn't depending on it when he walked.
"I already told you; I thought it would bring me closer to finding my uncle and aunt."
"I know. but why. Behind an action there is always a deeper motivation."
"And what do you think my motivation was?" I asked.
"Yes, you want to find them and who they are, but I sense that there is more to your story. Amber, gather the rest in a line!" Wu yelled.
Amber and my friends came out from the panels, and we all stood in a line facing the old man. He looked at us for a second before yelling something"
"Ninja-Goooooo"
He spun to his right a few times and sparks appeared beneath his feet. Some sort of golden tornado formed around him until he was engulfed by it. It spun from me to Amber who was at the end of the line. His tornado came to a stop in front of us and he appeared again. I opened my eyes to see that I was no longer in my normal clothing, instead me and the rest of us were in some sort of Gi or an outfit that resembled what Amber had, but they were much more colorful. First, I noticed the mask or wrap around my whole head. It covered everything on my head except for my eyes. The main color of my Gi was red, some dark red and black too. Underneath my Gi I wore a black shirt, but my red Gi had no sleeves, so the black sleeves of my shirt were visible. I had a leather strap diagonally across my chest that attached itself to a scabbard that could hold a sword on my back. Towards the right side of my chest was my uncle's fire emblem on the strap. The bottom of my Gi was mostly black but I had red straps on my knees. Instead of shoes, we had some sort of padding underneath our feet. It was thick enough to walk on any type of terrain. Alex's suit followed the main color of green. His Ninja wrap was green, and two sections were black. His scabbard was the same as mine, only his emblem was a bit different. His sleeves were dark green, and his torso was mostly green. His pants were dark green but like mine, he had green straps on his knees. Next was Violet's suit, but Her's was very bright. Her main color was Dark red with hints of sky blue. Her mask was that shade of red, but a part at the top was blue. Her upper part of the suit was mostly dark red, but a golden dragon was stitched on it that stretched around her waist and let to the center of her back. She wore a sky-blue undershirt and her pants where dark red. Amber was wearing all white with hints of black and grey. Her Wrap had a section of grey around her forehead. Her torso was covered with white. She also had a scabbard like the rest of us and she had her own emblem on her left side of her chest. Her pants were white, but she had a patch of grey from her knee to her ankles. We all looked at each other and we took off our Ninja wraps.
Wu then walked towards me and placed his staff on my left shoulder.
"Daren, Master of fire. Not only will you learn to control the fire that flows through your body, but the fire in your heart."
He then walked over to Alex, who stood beside me.
"Alex, Master of wind. You've been destined with this powerful element, not to create forces of nature that destroy those around it, but to create a connection to those around you."
"Violet, Master of water. You'll be able to create a flow of friendship throughout this team, and to help people who fear that type of connection."
Violet glanced at Amber, and gave her a look, letting her know who those "people" he was talking about.
"And Amber, The first student of this team, and the master of ice. Your powers may be cold, but if you let your team warm you up, then you will reach great heights."
Wu walked away and towards the sliding panels. He turned around and smiled.
"All your questions will be answered, but for now, training starts tomorrow morning," he said.
Obviously, we had many questions, but I guess for now, looks like our journey is only starting.
