Jungkook spent hours sitting by the han river, just talking to Yoongi on the phone, until his battery died and he was exhausted beyond his limits, too tired to even cry anymore.

His heart hurt, his omega quiet now, withdrawing into the darkness, unresponsive.

Jungkook walked to the house he lives in, Taehyung's house to be precise. It wasn't Jungkook's, never will be.

That's the first thing Taehyung had told him, back on their wedding night.

" I may have had to marry you but I will never accept this bond. You are nothing but a burden, a sinkhole I was forced to fall into, and I swear to whatever God is out there, you will never have a place in my heart. This house, is just temporary. It will never be yours. You are just a little showpiece I was forced to keep, so get it in that little head of yours. I despise you. I despise your existence. This, whatever crap they call the soulmate bond is just a rope that is strangling me, and If I could, I would get rid of you just to break out of this hellhole"

Each word spoken on that day, was still ingrained in Jungkook's head, every single word, spoken with so much hatred, that Jungkook's soul had shivered.

That was the first day his Omega had been broken. It was the first of many heartbreaks.

Everytime Taehyung opened his mouth, it would break Jungkook's heart.

Bit by bit.

Piece by piece.

So much so that now, Jungkook did everything just to avoid his husband. Staying out late, keeping to himself, not attending functions and any other way he could.

If it meant not having to hear all the hurtful words that Taehyung had for him, Jungkook would gladly spend his nights on the streets of Seoul, alone.

He couldn't always avoid it, he knew, but anything to minimize the pain his omega was going through.

Fate was cruel to him, no doubt.

And this, soulmate bond, was the most cruel thing fate had given him.

Perhaps, Jungkook made it worse by falling for the man who kept breaking his heart.

He saw Taehyung's car parked outside the house, and he willed his mind to be strong, to gather enough courage to enter the house, praying that his husband was already asleep.

It was a little over 3am, so perhaps luck would be on his side, atleast this once.

It wasn't.

Because sitting on the kitchen counter, a glass of whiskey in his hands, was his husband, his mate.

"Where the fuck were you?", the Alpha growled, angry pheromones clouding the air, making Jungkook's omega whine in distress.

"I went out for some air", Jungkook replied back, walking straight ahead, trying to escape to his room.
