Trigger warning: Mentions of abuse🙂
-

There are instances in life when a person is forced to question every decision they ever made.

These instances, often, are a product of the person's behavior and their selfishness. And no matter how hard they try to make sense of it, to try to fix it, it never works because the deed has already been done, now left in the past with wounds so deep it will take ages to heal, or maybe it will never heal at all.

There's a popular saying by George R.R. Martin: Words are like arrows, Once loosed, you cannot call them back".

Words, while not having the capacity to hurt physically, hold much more power than any physical weapon in the world.

Words, they cut deep, make your heart bleed. Words, they stay in your heart and torture your mind. Words, as simple as the spelling is, just a 5 letter word, carry more weight than anything else in the world.

Physical injuries heal, the pain from physical injuries fades away with time, but words, they linger. The pain of those words, the cut they leave stays, never once leaving the mind.

The mind may forget the bodily hurt, but it remembers the words, it remembers the pain, it remembers the taunts and it remembers the ache.

Words, they hurt and they will always hurt.

Kim Taehyung realized that very late.

All his life, he had prided himself at being an Alpha, one of the highest ranking in their hierarchy.

For him, it was a matter of pride. He was supposed to be arrogant, he was supposed to be well established and he was supposed to keep his head held high, never bowing down to anyone.

Taehyung didn't realize when that arrogance of being an Alpha got to his head, turning him into such a despicable human being.

But he realizes it now, although it was perhaps a little too late.

He knows, that what he put his mate through was nothing short than mental abuse.

There's no need to sugar coat it. It was abuse, simple as that.

Those taunts, those harsh words and that degrading behavior had damaged Jungkook's mind, making the omega believe that whatever bullshit that spewed out of Taehyung's mouth was the absolute truth.

The damage was already done. And no matter how hard Taehyung tries now to fix it, the truth is, it cannot fully be undone.

What he did to Jungkook was Unforgivable.

So when the omega wolf had told him that he was the trigger for his mate's trauma, Taehyung's world tilted off its axis, like it couldn't find a solid ground to hold onto.

His past actions, they filtered through his eyes, like a little movie and the guilt, it increased tenfolds because he knows what he had done, and he realizes that he was nothing less than a monster.
