- Jungkook was not expecting to find a party happening when he reached home.
He sure wasn't expecting it to be his and Taehyung's anniversary party.
Apparently, Taehyung knew about it but didn't tell him. More like chose not to tell him.
It had been Jin's idea, Taehyung elder brother. They wanted to celebrate 4 years of Taehyung and Jungkook's wedding, ofcourse, Jin had asked Taehyung to inform Jungkook about the party. Something that Taehyung didn't do.
Which is why Jungkook was late to his own anniversary party, looking like an asshole for showing up late.
"I'm so sorry Jin Hyung. I really forgot", Jungkook internally winced, the lie escaping his mouth before he could even think about it.
"Ah, it's alright Jungkookie. You are here now. Come on, we have cake. We waited for you to come so that you and Taehyung could cut it together", Jin smiled warmly at his brother-in-law, a soul so gentle he couldn't help but want to protect.
"Yes ofcourse hyung. I'm sorry again", Jungkook apologized again, even though he knew it wasn't his fault.
Jin laughed a little, endeared with how guilty Jungkook looked, like a new born baby.
"Nonsense. Enough apologies. First go and change. We can wait. The night is young afterall"
Jungkook hurriedly nodded as he ran towards his room, before changing his direction as he realized that Taehyung's family thought they shared the same room.
Thankfully, Taehyung had allowed him to keep a set of clothes in his room for emergencies such as this. Wouldn't want the facade of their marriage to come out.
Jin watched as Jungkook turned towards Taehyung's bedroom, and he sighed.
He walked towards his brother, who was busy conversing with Jimin, forgetting about everyone else.
"Taehyung. Can I talk to you for a second?", Jin said, ignoring Jimin entirely.
Taheyung frowned at Jin's tone, but nodded nonetheless, making his way to the empty balcony.
"What's wrong Hyung? You seem pissed", he asked as he turned to face Jin.
Jin smiled, "I understand you are an asshole, something I know our parents and I didn't teach you, but not informing your mate about his own anniversary party was a really lowly thing to do. What the fuck is wrong with you Taehyung?"
Taehyung was startled. Jin never spoke so harshly to him, and yet, all his brain could pick up on was that Jin knew. Jungkook definitely ratted him out.
"Oh no. Don't even think of blaming that poor boy. He apologized for coming late by saying he forgot. But the look of bewilderment on his face was enough for me to know the truth. Are you really that fucking pathetic to go to this extent to humiliate your mate?"
Taehyung's jaw ticked, his temper rising," hyung, mind your words"
"No.", Jin immediately replied, words harsher now," you need to mind your fucking actions. You are so blind by this stupid adoration you have for Jimin to not realize what a gem of a mate you have been blessed with. Do you ever stop to think just what you are doing to that boy?
You keep on following jimin like a lap dog, and yet you never stop to think what will happen to you once jimin finds his mate? Do you think he will leave his mate for you? "
Taehyung frowned. No. He hadn't thought about that. More like refused to let his brain think about that.
" I can assure you that he won't. Because he isn't selfish like you. He isn't stupid like you. You are so far up in your head that you are throwing away the one good blessing the Moon goddess bestowed on you for a fleeting emotion that you confuse with love. You are so blind that you cannot even see how much you are hurting that poor boy. Do you even realize the damage you are inflicting on him?"
Taehyung was honestly done with this conversation. His ego was getting hurt, and as a prideful Alpha, he wasn't willing to let that happen.
"I don't care hyung. It's not like he will die. "
Jin chuckled darkly, his eyes radiating with anger.
"Oh you stupid fool. He will die. Your rejection is killing his omega, which in turn will kill him. But you have such a big stick up your ass that you refuse to see that. The day you lose that boy, then you will realize just how important he was. For now, just know, if you ever dare to pull a stunt like that to humiliate Jungkook, I will forget you are my brother."
Jin walked off, leaving a stunned Taehyung standing there.
He couldn't understand if what Jin said was true, for he can't see anything wrong with Jungkook.
The younger looked normal, like he always did.
Perhaps his brother thought scaring him like this would make him want the mate bond.
It wasn't going to happen.
Taehyung would never want Jungkook. Never.

Jungkook walked out to join the party, having showered.
Everyone gathered around them, watching as both the mates cut the cake.
The grip that Taheyung had on Jungkook's hand as they held the knife was strong, so much so that Jungkook knew Taehyung was pissed about something.
Nonetheless, Jungkook fed Taehyung a small piece, smiling as everyone congratulated him.
Taheyung though, instead of feeding Jungkook, opted to feed Jimin who was standing beside him.
Jungkook could see the judging eyes on them, as the guests looked confused. He masked his feeling with a soft smile, holding out a piece to feed Jin hyung.
"Thank you hyung for throwing this party. ", he said, hugging the Alpha who was like his own brother.
Jin smiled, a little sad as he replied, "it's the least I can do. You are family Jungkook, and just know, I really do love you like my little brother"
Jungkook felt overwhelmed with emotions, the kindness Jin was showing him was too much for his broken heart to handle.
"I know hyung. And I'm so grateful"
The party proceeded like normal. Namjoon and Hoseok coming to talk to Jungkook, including him in their little group while Taehyung stayed glued to Jimin's side.
Every once in a while, Jin would look over at Taehyung and notice how the latter was smiling so fondly at Jimin. He couldn't understand what was wrong with his brother.
More so, he couldn't understand what was wrong with Jimin.
Didn't the Omega see how wrong he was by encouraging Taehyung's behavior?
Perhaps it was time to have a little talk with Jimin.
Jin didn't want to meddle. But seeing Jungkook's condition, the way the omega had hurriedly dabbed at his nose, immediately throwing the tissue in the bin, a tissue that was covered in blood, he knew.
Jungkook's omega was dying.
Jin knew he had to act, before his brother's foolishness kills Jungkook.
So if having a talk with Jimin could help, then he was going to meddle all he could.
