Changes are often visible, if you look close enough. If the people close to Taehyung and Jungkook saw them now, they would see those changes as well.
They will see how Taehyung's eyes soften whenever it lands on Jungkook, they will see how Taehyung's hands linger a second longer whenever it makes contact with Jungkook, they will see how in a crowd, Taehyung's eyes follow Jungkook, and only Jungkook.
Jin noticed those small changes and he finally believed that perhaps, his brother is actually being sincere this time around.
They were in another one of those lavish parties, this one being hosted by Jungkook's family. The Kim's were obviously invited as it was a family/business party to celebrate the anniversary of Mr and Mrs Jeon, along with the anniversary of their company.
Jungkook was mingling with the guests, as was expected of him while Taehyung was standing by the bar, drink in hand as his eyes lingered on Jungkook.
Jin watched it all. Those stolen glances, that intense stare, that softness and that adoration. Only, perhaps, Jungkook was oblivious to it all, but that was a given because Jungkook didn't know any better. When you live with someone, small changes may be noticeable in the beginning but overtime, it starts to blend in the background as your mind accepts it as something normal.
It's been 2 months since that first date, and it's safe to say that Taehyung hasn't fucked up yet. He always made sure to come home on time from work, to help around the house as much as he could, to take care of Jungkook's every small need and to take Jungkook out on numerous dates.
Stolen glances and observations have taught him so much about his mate, things he would otherwise not be aware of. Like how Jungkook doesn't like wine or champagne at all, but his favourite was soju and whiskey. For society, it was an odd choice of alcohol for an omega as they usually have feminine traits, but then again, Jungkook was no ordinary omega. Jungkook was special.
Taehyung learnt that his mate isn't necessarily shy, but does get anxious when in public or in a crowd. Jungkook is an introvert. He also learnt that Jungkook has many more hobbies aside from reading, like painting which his mate is absolutely brilliant at. To think of it now, Jungkook is actually good at everything he does.
He learnt how Jungkook doesn't like chamomile tea, but instead preferred ginger tea or coffee. Jungkook doesn't like carrots (ironic cause he looks like a bunny) and doesn't like onions very much.
He learnt that suits are so not Jungkook's style. The omega despises them, and trys to always keep to his preferred style of leather jackets and loose pants.
He learnt about what makes Jungkook laugh, what's makes him shy and what makes him sad. He learnt about the omega's love for cartoons and animation, his love for action and horror and his disdain for cheesy chick flicks.
These two months, he learnt everything he could about his mate, Jungkook. Not the omega wolf side, but the human side of Jungkook. And Taehyung admits, his mate is indeed one of the most precious people he has ever met.
Jin saunters over to Taehyung, a champagne glass in hand and leans on the bar counter, eyes staring at Jungkook as well.
"He looks very handsome today, doesn't he?", Jin asks, smirking as his eyes shine with mischief.
"Hmm", Taehyung absent-mindedly replies, eyes not moving from Jungkook at all. "Very pretty"
Jin stifles a laugh. "Too bad, he is so busy huh"
Taehyung hums again as he sees Jungkook being stopped by an Alpha male.
"Bet you that Alpha is hitting on him", Jin adds, eyes watching Taehyung's reaction very carefully.
Taehyung holds his cool for a few seconds, even though his wolf was going crazy because of the proximity between that Alpha and his mate. But when the Alpha holds Jungkook's arm, stopping him from leaving and Taehyung sees that panic in Jungkook's eyes, he snaps.
His legs start moving towards his mate, only to stop in shock midway. His eyes cannot believe what he just witnessed but the shock was just temporary as his chest fills with pride.
Jungkook had punched that Alpha hard on his face, breaking his nose. Everyone's attention was on Jungkook and that Alpha now, and as soon as Taehyung saw the Alpha swing his arm to hit Jungkook back, he growled loudly, stopping the Alpha in place.
"Do. Not. Touch. My. Mate", Taehyung enunciated the words, walking hurriedly to jungkook and pulling him into his arms.
He recognized the Alpha as Mingyu, one of the corporate heads for Choi Entertainment.
"Alpha Mingyu. I suggest you back off before you cause anymore trouble. ", Taehyung drawled out, eyes narrowing in anger.
Mingyu huffed arrogantly, "You need to keep your omega in check Taehyung-ssi. Low breeds whores should not raise their hands on alphas"
This time it was Taehyung who punched him.
"The fuck did you call my mate?"
Jin hurried to stop Taehyung, with Namjoon and Hosoek, while the Jeons came to Jungkook's aid.
Guards were called to escort Alpha Mingyu outside.
"You piece of shit Omega. You are nothing without an Alpha's seed", Mingyu shouted angrily.
Jungkook lost his cool, storming to Alpha Mingyu who was held by two guards and he kicked him right in the balls.
Alpha Mingyu crouched down in pain, yelling as his hands held onto his precious goods which were probably damaged now.
Jungkook leaned down, coming face to face with the fallen Alpha. Surprisingly, no one even attempted to stop the omega.
"I don't need an Alpha's seed. But guess you won't be able to use your seeds to impregnant any omega now fuckface"
Jungkook pulled back, walking to his family and friends.
"I apologise for causing a scene. He was trying to force me to go to the washroom with him and won't take no for an answer even though I told him I'm mated. I didn't mean for this to happen", he winced as his eyes found the stormy one's of his mate.
Taehyung saw how Jungkook suddenly seemed so timid and he sighed.
"Baby, you don't have to apologise for doing the right thing. I'm super proud of you Jungkookie. So proud", Taehyung gently stated, pulling Jungkook into an embrace and placing a soft kiss onto his forehead.
He was infact very proud. Jungkook proved today that not all omegas are weak. So what if a few people in the crowd thought the omega was disrespectful, they all can go and fuck themselves. For Taehyung, his mate was perfect. And this small act of bravery was a very proud moment.
The party ended rather quickly after that, the guests were still in shock after the incident. It wasn't everyday that an omega beat up an Alpha.
When Taehyung and Jungkook got into their car, Taehyung commended Jungkook on his bravery to which Jungkook simply replied,
"When I was in college, there was this Alpha who saved me from a bunch of bullies. I remember what he said to me that day. He said, "you are not weak unless you make yourself to be weak. So be strong. Your subgender doesn't define you". From that day onwards, I joined the gym and started to train. I learned to fight. That Alpha, in a way, saved my life"
Too bad, that Taehyung still couldn't figure out that jungkook was talking about him.
