Hey people
Okay so I received a few messages from some of you and I have responded to them privately as well. But I'm just putting it out here so that if others are confused as well, then it will clear it up.
So the confusion was that if Taehyung is infact, the main trigger for Jungkook.
It will be revealed in the next chapter anyway but it won't be that detailed. So I'm just gonna explain it here.
Jungkook's past, as you know now, wasn't pretty. At the age of 8, he was subjected to a lot of mental and physical abuse. It's important to note that he was an orphan before he was adopted, so naturally, ever since he learnt how to talk and understand things, he knew that his birth parents left him and didn't want him. Or couldn't care for him. That was the first thing Jungkook knew and believed. He was an orphan, a child who wasn't wanted by his birth parents.
So think of it like this, an 8 year old child is being repeatedly told that he doesn't deserve anything good, that he doesn't deserve a family or love or any kind of affection or even any kindness. He was made to believe that everyone was just doing him a favour, because they pitied him.
So when Taehyung, who has all the rights to shower Jungkook with as much love as possible, starts to show his affection, Jungkook's mind just couldn't comprehend and accept it. For him, it was something very new and something very frightening. Because he has been conditioned to believe that he doesn't deserve any affection. Or even any love.
How can a person who has been told for so long that he doesn't deserve good things just accept it when he is being treated the right way?
Because Jungkook didn't remember the main abuse, his conscience only remembered the phase "You don't deserve good things". That's why his brain rejected the affection and it became a trigger.
Taehyung's affection was only one part of the trigger. The other part is the mentality that Jungkook has been taught since the age of 8.
So if you look at it in a more comprehensive way, then technically, Taehyung is not to be blamed for this. Many of you messaged me saying that Taehyung is to be blamed for it all but that's simply not true.
I'm not saying that Taehyung is a Saint. But he is part human and he made mistakes like everyone else. The main thing is that he admitted to those mistakes and tried to fix it.
I understand why many of you thought that Taehyung is at fault because of the way the chapter is written. But you have to understand that the previous 3 chapters have been only from Taehyung's pov. His emotions and his feelings are described. Not Jungkook's. So yes, taehyung believes that everything is his fault because he is one of the abusers. But you have to note that it's not in any way describing Jungkook's emotions.
The main problem of this entire situation is the trauma that Jungkook suffered which hinders his ability to accept that anyone can be capable of loving him.
That's the main issue.
The issue isn't with Taehyung's way of showing affection. The issue is Jungkook's inability to accept it.
So yeah, just to clear it out, Taehyung wasn't at fault. His actions may have pushed Jungkook to the breaking point but Taehyung wasn't aware of the degree of trauma that jungkook had.
Further on, you'll be reading Jungkook's side of things and about how he feels and then alot of your questions will be answered. So for now, I'm just clearing this part of your confusion.
The rest shall be revealed as the story progresses.
Hope this helps.
