Changes are good. Most time, changes are for the better. Sometimes though, a little change can be an indication for something worse.
Taehyung is someone who isn't very perceptive. He doesn't notice certain things, certain changes simply because he doesn't really care. If it has nothing to do with him, then he doesn't waste his energy thinking about it.
But if the changes concern his mate, his beloved Jungkookie, then Taehyung notices. He has learnt to notice, to be more perceptive.
And so, when Jungkook starts changing, little by little, Taehyung notices. He noticed how the younger changed his attire, switching from his normal black on black outfits to pale, soft tones. It looked good on Jungkook, not gonna lie but it just wasn't Jungkook's style.
Then came the makeup, something Jungkook doesn't use frequently. It was weird, to see Jungkook being all dolled up. He looked like an angel, literally but it felt off. Jungkook was naturally so beautiful, so handsome that seeing him wear makeup felt like he was hiding away his natural beauty.
Then the tattoos were gone. Taehyung had done a double take when he noticed Jungkook's arm. Tattoos don't simply just disappear, right? So was the younger hiding them? But why?
Questions plagued Taehyung's head. Why was Jungkook changing? Why did it seem like Jungkook was hiding?
Taehyung thought deeply about it for days, trying to make sense of Jungkook's odd behavior and in that time, the piercings were gone too.
Now, Taehyung was no fool. Their mate bond seemed angsty, a dull ache throbbing with every passing minute. It was closed off from Jungkook's side but because they were both marked now, Taehyung could pick up on a hint of the younger's feelings, especially those that were strong.
Why was Jungkook hurting?
Perhaps, it was the way that the younger was hiding himself, his personality that provided a clear picture for Taehyung, or perhaps it was simply Taehyung's brain that had started to work properly. But whatever it was, Taehyung atleast had a little idea about the 'why's'.
Jungkook didn't love his appearance.
Taehyung remembers how the society would talk about Jungkook during the first 4 years of their marriage. He remembers the words and he also remembers never doing anything about it.
He regrets it, ofcourse, because if he had put a stop to it then, than perhaps Jungkook wouldn't be trying to hide right now.
The question though, right now was how to fix it?
How can Taehyung settle Jungkook's insecurities?
Is it something he can do?
Taehyung isn't sure if he can do anything about it. If his actions will solve anything. But he can atleast try, right?
