Trigger Warning: Mentions of death and self harm
-
Grieving is a hard process. To accept the loss of a loved one is even harder, especially when you have never suffered from that loss before.Jungkook has never grieved. He lost his birth parents before he even knew who they were. He has never lost anyone who was close him and so, this loss was a new thing for him. The feeling of utter sadness and hollowness was new to him.
Grief was new to him. And it clearly showed.
Jungkook didn't cry after that day in the hospital. He didn't cry during the plane ride back home, he didn't cry at the funeral that was held in Busan, his old hometown. He didn't cry at the memorial. He simply didn't cry at all.
Yoongi tried to break through to him, but it seemed nearly impossible. For someone who has been pretending all his life to be happy, this little facade of being okay was like a piece of cake.
And it was starting to worry the people around him as well.
It's been nearly 3 weeks after the funeral, and Jungkook had reserved back into his shell. One where he didn't have to be vulnerable.
To be strong, one needs to show vulnerability. And this strong front that Jungkook was putting up as a show, was nothing but a facade because in truth, he was scared of feeling so much. Scared of acknowledging that he lost someone dear to him. Scared of feeling so much and not being able to control it.
Taehyung knew he had to do something. He had to get Jungkook to break that facade and to show his emotions. Jungkook needs to let go of all his pent up emotions before they start to eat him alive.
It was a Wednesday night, a little over 8pm when Taehyung stepped into their home, the house shrouded with gloominess.
He could smell Jungkook's scent in the house and he knew the younger was locked in his room, all alone.
Taehyung walked towards the door, and knocked, waiting for a response. Truth be told, Jungkook hadn't left the house in 2 weeks, not accepting any visitors, not even Yoongi. Taehyung had tried to talk to the younger, tried to get him to open up the door and let him in but it was of no use. Jungkook hadn't shown himself at all.
So Taehyung did whatever he could. He would cook the food and place it infront of Jungkook's door, and leave for work. Thankfully, atleast the plates were empty when he returned back home.
Today though, Taehyung was determined to get Jungkook to open the door.
"Baby", Taehyung spoke, ever so softly.
Still, there was no response.
"Jungkook, please open the door. I haven't seen you in 2 weeks. I know you are hurting. I know you probably want to be alone. But I know from experience that keeping all those emotions pent up inside you won't do you any good. So please Jungkook, open up"
