"what are you doing?" Lissa walked into my bedroom catching me with injection.
"Relax, I was actually a medical student before I quit.. it's just injection" I smiled hiding it in my drawer.

"That's not medicine inside there, I've been around long enough to know that when a celebrity doesn't go to the hospital for drugs.. that's another type of drug.. an illegal one" she sat beside me

"It helps me go by, it helps me feel relaxed.. don't worry I'm not an addict, I can actually do without it" I smiled.

"That's not true.. I've caught you tapping your finger on the table severally and I thought you were impatient.. it's actually a withdrawal syndrome" she held my hand.

"I'm.. not.. I'm not addicted" I argued.

"I know.. you're not.. but can you go a day without it?" She asked.

"You're treating me like a kid.. that's a trick question" I answered.

"Who introduced to drugs? How long have you been using it?" She asked.

"Six months.. Steven gave it to me to help me feel relaxed.. I didn't even realize.. I was starting to depend on it.. and it's been totally helping me and I don't even have to buy it" I smiled.

"What do you do for Steven in exchange? The penthouse?" She asked.
"No.. no, I just.. it's nothing okay? Go out.. I need some of that" I stood up.
" You don't need it"she said.

" You don't know anything.
We're not friends okay?you're my manager at work not in my personal life and space"I glared at her.

" Oh yeah?are you going to ruin your budding career" she said.

"Don't patronize me when you don't know shit.. you think it's easy to be this popular in six months? Do you know how many auditions I failed? Steven brought me here.. he gave me a chance when no one wanted to" I shouted

"He did good, he's the most amazing CEO but you're giving up your sanity for popularity" she said.
"I'm not mad.. I'm not crazy.. I'm sane" I smiled.

"Yes you are but you're not yourself.. your eyes are distant and you don't have that innocent look that has landed you many cover pages.. let me help you.. I had a brother, he was eighteen and he died from overdose.. I can't let that happen to you"she said.

" Get out"I snapped at her.

" What? "She looked at me surprised. It was the first time I was speaking harshly to her or any other person.

" Just go before I ask Steve to fire you.. go and don't come in without knocking"I said.

" Jamie"she began but I pushed her out of the room and locked the door rushing to my drawer to inject myself.

That absolutely felt better.
