Everybody sings about the summertime like it's a big, great thing. But I like the winter better; in his rain nobody sees your pain.
And the cold's a nice companion when you've lost everything.
Makes you numb to all the problems that trouble your sick brain.
In the heat you feel like dying, because your sheets are warm and wet
-it reminds you of her presence, makes you think she never left-.
And all the couples are smiling, walking through Los Reyes's park,
while you pretend that you don't see them, as the dogs around you bark.
You pretend that you don't know just how lovely feelings are.
You declare numbness is better, as you walk up to your car,
and you see amongst the bushes, the red roses you once gave her.
And you wish the white snow fell; you beg God, the great creator:
"Bury me under it's layers! Make me blind! And make me forget
that it was a summer night when she said "goodbye" and left!"
So bring on the winter.
Bring on the rain.
Bring me the cold to numb my pain,
and the blues that wreck my soul,
they won't return again.
