There are few things I believe to be true
And too many questions I want to ask you
So please sit and listen to this sinners voice
Please hear what I say, and my eyes don't avoid
I know you are good, and you've been kind to me
Through all of my troubles and shadows, I see
Your light shining through the deep valley of death
I can't see your face, yet I know you're out there
But my faith's been shaken by your mortal sons
They say that to heaven I'll never belong
And that what I feel is disgusting and wrong
They kick me away, they all want me gone
So please would you kindly come answer my call
Would you tell me you love me, that you don't mind at all
The way that I love, and I dress and behave
Is the way you have made me, and you love me this way?
I know I'm not perfect, so no, I won't try
To judge all my haters, my bullies, their lies
But please send a message to them from my part
And ask them to open their minds and their hearts
Cause me and my people we just want to go
To a place that is quiet, and there's light, and there's hope
Where we are all passengers of the same boat
Where our soul is respected as a whole
Cause we all bleed and eat, and we all live all the same
We're all tiny pawns in the great astral plane
So why live in shame, and spread this sick pain
That we can't live together in this earthly terrain
So please would you kindly come answer my call
Would you tell me you love me, that you don't mind at all
The way that I love, and I dress and behave
Is the way you have made me, and you love me this way?
One thing I've been taught and I stand by with pride
And I've tried to apply in my everyday life
It's that outside of charity there's no salvation
And that a lack of empathy only leads to damnation
That helping each other's the best way to go
That little we've seen, that little we know
I know you agree with these things I've just said
I know cause you've proved me, again and again
But could you please tell them, so they'll understand
That you love every creature, and being, and man
And that you designed us to be like you are
Intelligent, strict, but so full of warmth
No matter the gender we love or we are
You care for us all, and you pray from afar
Cause we are all your children,
Born beneath your bright star.
