-Vaggie POV
"Be here as soon as possible, that is an order. And bring the key with you."
He had hung up just as fast as I had called him, which was a terrible sign that I had messed up for the night. While I stood between Alastor and Charlie, who were still talking to the clown demon who was visibly trembling down between us, my mind was still elsewhere.
Charlie asking me to take care of 'it', rather 'him' was unpredictable, but it allowed me a faster way to meeting Him as well. However, I was debating how I should bring the key with me. I could always point out I'll be back late and therefore will need the key. But it wasn't just a regular key, it was the 'Key'.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN TAKE CARE OF IT? ARE YOU WEIRDOS GOING TO KILL ME? WHAT THE HELL IS GONNA HAPPEN TO ME?! YOU ARE ALL A PAIR OF -
Julian was interrupted by a piece of tape covering his mouth, courtesy of Alastor who with a simple snap had plastered it across his face.
"Now that's enough of your talk little fellow." He let out a short chuckle.
I turned to Charlie who stared down at him, with a hint of remorse, probably from her actions earlier. This situation was worsening. The change of her pupils meant she was remembering. But this was caused by short anger outbursts which could be a side effect of the medicine. She hadn't questioned me anything regarding the past, and knowing how curious and honest she was, the moment she remembered, she would immediately ask away.
"Hun," I started while reaching out for her arm, managing to build up the courage to ask her for the key, without seeming suspicious.
"Hun?" I asked her as I shook her arm and vile she was still lost in thought. She blinked rapidly and looked around before setting her eyes on me, and a small soft smile formed.
"Yes Vaggie? What is it?" She asked gently, unlike how I had seen her earlier, with so much fueled anger.
"Since I'm going to take care of it." I looked down at Julian, whose eyes widened and his body started squirming around. Al had already tied his hands and legs together with tape. "I was wondering if I could have the key, you know, just in case I get here late. And I don't want you to stay up late waiting for me. You need all your energy for tomorrow."
"Oh but Vaggie why should it take you too long? It's not that big of a deal." She replied innocently with a hidden childish smile. Of course when she meant to take care of it, she referred to talking out the situation with the demon and pay them off. Of course they gotta sign a contract and if they would break it, they would be taken care of by her parents assigned demons for that. Which would probably end up in death, or confined solitude imprisonment.
But of course Charlie wanted to humor me by making Julian think we were going to kill him.
I gave her a smile. "Well yes, but I just want to make sure the job is well done this time, unlike the other time." I carried on humoring her.
"Ah yes! Great idea Vaggie! I know last time it got really messy with all the bodies involved." She told me worriedly.
Julian's paranoid muffles were heard through the tape.
"Be a good sport and don't interrupt in the ladies' conversation." Alastor told him as with a flick of his finger added another piece of tape to his mouth.
Charlie tried holding on her giggle and reached out inside her pocket. The key's only eye glimmered in the darkness of the hallway.I reached out for it carefully, awaiting for the key to start jumping around or blink rapidly.
"Oh dont be like that Vaggie, you know I absolutely trust you, and I know you can take care of this." She held my hand, and placed it in my palm; The key, warm due to its place of confinement, didn't shake or cause any chaos, it simply sat in my palm.
