-Vaggie POV-
October 1st, 1920
"You are to go to this town here and report any suspicious activity." The higher up instructed me again and opened the portal. I looked down at it and I could see what seemed to be an apartment complex.
The last time I had been there I hadn't been exactly successful at bringing information, unlike some of my siblings. The Higher Ups had emphasized to not get attached to humans but I did bring up Charlie, and argued that growing connections with her and other humans would allow me to get a better clue in who I was dealing with. They surprisingly agreed, barely that is.
"Remember to wear your human disguise and under no circumstance should you take it off as we don't want to alert the humans." He said as I snapped my fingers and my appearance changed. It had been a while since I had gone to the human realm. I wasn't really amused with it as I didn't really care about the humans. But she was different. She made me feel seen.
I wonder if she would be here this time.
"Another reminder, we are creating a small base in the town so don't be surprised if you run into one of our comrades. Do you understand Vagatha?"
"Yes sir."

I've got my mind on you.

New Orleans
I stood there awkwardly in front of the apartment complex. The instructions were vague as they didn't tell me how long I would be here for or what to exactly look for. I supposed that it was related to the amount of killings that had been increasing the past couple of years.
I headed to the main office of the apartment and I assumed I was to rent a room until I was called back. Or perhaps I was supposed to look for the others who were creating a base.
The manager of the apartments was kind enough to show me to my apartment and told me about the neighbors and community. The neighbor to my left was an old lady, who's husband died a few years prior. The other neighbor is a girl who is roughly the same age as me. The manager made sure to point that the girl was very rich and it was quite rare in seeing someone of her status to be in a place like this.
I simply nodded as this information was not viable to my research and ultimately wouldn't help me.
"So here you go. There really isn't that many rules other than don't bother the neighbors by being loud. I know that you youngsters love doing your little parties but just for the sake of us older people be a bit more considerate." He told me as he handed me the keys and went back on his way. I went in, the room being empty with just the kitchen appliances: I supposed I would need to do a bit of furniture shopping or try to create some, but my magic had it's limit. The apartment's beige colored walls struck me out as depressing and the vast space of the apartment as well.
I suppose the higher ups knew what they were doing when they decided to send me to this location; It was best to assume I would start my research here, and I would do that by talking to the residents here.
There was a man around his 40s who struck me out as creepy by his collection of dollhouses.
A single mother with her daughter whom she clearly adored.
A young couple who planned to get married next year and open their business of coffee.
A group of teens who had all just moved out from their parent's houses and were living their life to the fullest according to them.
