Dinner is going pretty quick, more so just listening to Darcy brag about some new video game, and Connor brag about the torment of his new pet who already annoys me less than the other, even if I like throwing some opinions I'm normally pretty quiet in a group, just staying in the background, guess it's hard to understand social dynamics when you were away from it for some long, similar to my pet, it's obvious she still doesn't understand the normal world.

I can relate to her in a lot more aspects than I once thought but it still doesn't change what she is to me, I can't view her as anything else, it's hard for me to all she is, is a toy, nothing more nothing less.

"We are only the empire for two days yeah," I ask Noah, I need to try and find this group but I still don't fully trust Caelyn although I saw a very human and vulnerable side to her that shows she isn't a hunter, that she is human, makes me I don't know pity her, still doesn't mean I will go easy on her, I can't.

"Yes but we do have an alliance meeting coming up afterwards," he says, as second in command I need to attend all meetings, Noah didn't have anyone he truly trusted, so I became the guy not that I do much but it's my power and the fear I make people feel that help.

"Meetings so boring," Darcy says, I don't listen to half the meetings but some are important and considering I need to try and protect the werewolves it's important I attend, Mathias originally was worried the wolves would try to attack them but they won't, all they want is peace, yes the head alpha wasn't happy about the overtaking but he knows I had no choice, even if we live in a dictatorship we still follow democracy, why I don't understand if anything I believe all sectors should be separate, you barely see a sector that is similar besides the one living in the capital but even then we all have different traditions, different beliefs, the lower sectors might be seen as the poorer ones because we live in the outskirts we don't get all the luxuries but it still doesn't mean we are powerless, anything we are the strongest.

"And I thought you would take over me one day" Noah chuckles, he originally asked if I wanted to be the leader but I said no, mainly because I couldn't be bothered and warned we might cause a war if I was in charge which is the truth. I just want things back to normal which may shock a lot of people, but I didn't want this, vampire world domination means I can't do my fun little hunts or torment humans well I can torment the humans working here but it isn't the same.

"Do I get paid?" Darcy says

"What do you get paid I don't get paid," I say, not that we need money I destroyed like four countries on my own and stole all their money we may seem poor but we are the richest sector but we don't use a lot of the money you don't need to, in our sector we just take what we want, you go to shops and go to restaurants and don't need to pay even we got to human towns we don't need to pay, but I still would miss travelling the world, doing different jobs when you are alive for so long you get pretty bored.

"Yo me either bro," Bruno says

"No one gets paid" Noah chuckles

"As it should" I chuckle fuck I completely forgot about my pet but she just sits quietly finishing her meal, again as it should be.

The bell goes after a few more minutes, I just stroke Caelyn's hair as she looks back at me but I shake my head, Darcy isn't feeding either probably realising there are only so many times, he was fine before Caelyn came I don't know unless he can sense her blood is different and it makes him hungrier but that's the thing with her, you can't, I wouldn't know if she is around, I wouldn't know what blood type she has, she can hide all that.

"Are both of you on a hunger strike or something" Connor chuckles after ruthlessly feeding on his new pet.

"I prefer to do mine in private it's more intimate," I say just rubbing her back as she rests her head on my chest
