idia paced around back and forth in his room while letting out shaky breaths. his heart was rapidly beating as he started mumbling incoherent words to himself.
ortho seated on idia's bed with a worried look, watching his older brother pacing around and having a panic attack.
"nii-san..."
"what am i going to do? does she like candlelit dinners? she likes sweets, so would placing a ring inside the cake work? no, that's too cliché! should i just give her a bouquet of flowers and kneel down? what do i even say?! 'marry me'?! shit, i even asked her to come over... now, what am i going to do?! stupid, stupid, st——"
"nii-san!"
idia yelped as ortho raised his voice to gather his attention. the older shroud eyed ortho and said, "yes, ortho...?"
the younger shroud stood beside him and replied, "your heart rate is increasing rapidly, are you alright?"
the ignihyde dorm head sighed, "i'm just..."
before he could complete his sentence, his dorm room's door busted open as the newcomer cheerfully greeted the two.
"idia, ortho! hey," spoke f/n as she smiled at them.
"nee-san!" cheered ortho as he went to hug f/n, "are you here to spend time with us?"
f/n hugged ortho as she replied, "i guess so. your brother asked me to come over, so... here i am!"
idia cleared his throat while avoiding f/n's gaze, "uh... do you... i..."
the military officer blinked as she witnessed idia growing flustered, avoiding eye contact with her, and stumbling on his words.
'what's gotten into him?' thought f/n as her eyes subtly glowed purple, indicating that she was reading his mind.
'what should i say? i shouldn't have asked her to come over... i'm too unprepared... ugh, i'm such an idiot.'
f/n's brows furrowed as she looked at idia with worry, "are you alright, 'dia? am i... making you uncomfortable? i can leave, if you want..."
idia's eyes widened and immediately shook his hands, "no! no! nothing like that!"
'i just don't know what to say and how to ask you to marry me..'
unfortunately for idia, f/n was still reading his mind as she stood there, frozen in shock.
"i was... it's not that you make me uncomfortable, not at all..." trailed idia.
ortho's gaze shifted between the two and turned around to leave the room. based on the situation, he could tell that those two needed to be alone for a while.
the ignihyde dorm head sighed and sat on his bed with a dejected expression, "never mind, n/n... you can go back to your dorm... sorry for bothering you.
"..."
"..."
f/n suddenly knelt down before idia and held his hand, "will you marry me?"
"h-huh...?! wait, WHAT?!"
"will you marry me, idia shroud?"
the ignihyde dorm head fumbled around with his words in surprise, not expecting f/n to kneel down and propose to him.
it was originally his plan to be the one to ask her that question.
f/n eyed idia as she anticipated for a response. his cheeks grew red as he mumbled, "yeah..."
the military officer gave him a smug smile and said, "what's that? i didn't hear you."
"yes, i'll marry you!!!"
f/n laughed and sat beside him before planting a kiss on his cheek, "the tips of your hair are pink, haha!"
"i'm a little embarrassed! besides, i was supposed to be the one to ask you that..." admitted idia.
"i know," replied f/n, "i was reading your mind. i popped the question instead, because you look like you're about to pass out."
idia sighed, "haa... wait... you were reading my mind?!"
"ehe~ never mind that, we're getting married!"
"nii-san and nee-san are getting married?!" exclaimed ortho as he bust the door open. it was evident that the younger shroud was sporting a large smile on his face upon hearing the news.
idia grabbed f/n's left hand and slid the ring into her finger, "yes, ortho. your nee-san will officially be your sister-in-law."
