Lucien pov

We had got a lead on Ambrose, he's in a club in New York. Myself and Alice were tracking him we hoped him seeing her  alive would bring his humanity back on, he missed his mother deeply seeing her should snap him back into form, well he hoped it would work, a vampire with their humanity of is very unpredictable, I'm worried he could be too far gone.

We arrive at the club and instantly knew something wasn't right, I could smell blood and the whole place was silent, I opened the door and bodies lay all over the place, dead humans we had to step around the bodies until we reached a back room, i opened the door and Ambrose was sat sucking the life out of a human girl " Ambrose. What he fuck is wrong with you? Ella Is alive she needs you. The baby needs you. Please" I couldn't help but plead with him.

Ambrose looked up at me and vamp speed towards me " don't say her name. Shhh. Don't repeat what you've said" he whispered down my ear, I knew instantly that some part of Ambrose wanted to keep Giuseppe away from her, in some weird way his humanity off the love for Ella was stronger, but how? I didn't think this was possible, he loved Ella and was trying to protect her from the evil beast, but he become one himself.

Alice Walked in seeing her son for the first time in 20 years was the best moment for her, but how would he react? " Son" she walked up to him with her arms out to welcome him for a hug, he looked At her a glimmer of something was in his eye but he just  laughed " you think my mother being awake will bring my humanity on?" Ambrose laughed " your wrong. I don't care about her. If I see you again more people will die, cities will fall at my hands"  he stepped back lifting the lifeless human up to his mouth continuing to feed, he didn't care for his mother no, but there was still hope, he did indeed care for Ella, there was no mistaking that.

Giuseppe comes walking in looking between me and Alice " have your come to try turn his humanity on? I quite like him like this. How is it working out for you?" Giuseppe laughed " he's long gone now. So just leave the way you came in" Giuseppe had an evil glimpse in his eye, I knew this bastard was beyond gone, but  he literally had no humanity left in his lifeless soul, he was beyond help.

I shook my head disgusted in what I saw, yes we are vampires, but we don't need to behave like this, the council will come sniffing even more. I turned to Alice with a sorry look " come on Alice . They are beyond gone" I couldn't help but look at her face, her face of hopeless, her son had essentially turned his back on her, she's been asleep for 20 years for fuck sake, his mother was his world, if this didn't work I fear nothing will bring him back, not even in his love Ella.

Alice took one last look at her son, wiping a lone tear she turned around and followed me out, she was upset from her son having no humanity on, he didn't care about anything, accept he cared about Giuseppe  finding out Ella is alive, so that's something, I just hoped that it actually was enough to pull him back.

Once away from anyone hearing I tell her about Ambrose showing care towards Giuseppe finding out Ella Is Alive, she had a flicker of hope  that some how he's not that far gone. But I wasn't so sure, I can't help the sunken death feeling I had in the pit  of my stomach, when will this end? Will the council catch them before they wipe out enough humans to fill a city? How far is he willing to go wrong Giuseppe? Death at the hands of the council? From his own cruel actions? How will Ella and the baby  cope? She needs him they both do.
