"And then Roscoe practically tried to eat him." Lydia laughed into the telephone.
"Well, that dog would eat his own leg." The slightly younger girl laughed.
"That's true," Lydia chuckled, "But, yeah, it was fun having Remus over."
"Not too much fun I hope."
"Addeline Iris Hawthorne." Lydia scolded, glad that her friend couldn't see the blush that was staring back at her in the mirror above the phone.
"Your stubbornness only makes this more fun." Addeline giggled.
"Oh, really?" Lydia gasped with a chuckle, "Well, what about Sunday night?"
"What about Sunday night?"
"Don't think that Avery and I didn't see you flirting all night."
Addeline scoffed down the phone, "Flirting."
"Him teasing you because of your height and then the two of you having a flour war." Lydia smirked.
"Liv practically told me to do that."
"Okay, well did Liv also tell you leaning your head on Toby's shoulder as the pair of you were all cuddled up on the floor, sharing gingerbread." Lydia added.
The silence at the end of the lone on confirmed what Olivia had told her.
"Addie," The brunette said softly, pushing her glasses further up her face, "It's okay to like him."
"No, it's not." Addeline whispered.
Lydia raised an eyebrow, drawing on a notebook with the pen that was always next to the phone, "What do you mean?"
"If I let myself like Toby, then everything will change." Addeline told her.
"Nothing is going ot change," Lydia shook her head, "You were Addie who was friends with Toby and now you're Addie who likes Toby."
Addeline scoffed lightly, "He would never like me back."
"Addie, if he didn't like you back, then that would make him the biggest idiot in the world." Lydia told her.
"I can't, Lyds."
"Addie, you liking him will change nothing," Lydia said, "It only changes things if you decide to act upon it."
"Merlin, I do like him, don't I." Addeline groaned.
"Yeah," Lydia laughed, "And that's okay. You can still be his friend, no matter what."
