Lydia sat at her vanity table, styling her hair in a low and loose bun when Olivia came into her bedroom.
"You look nice." The woman commented, leaning against the doorframe, her hands resting on her small bump.
Lydia flushed red, turning to look at her step-mother, "Thanks."
"Who is it that's coming over today?" Olivia asked.
"Remus." Lydia shrugged, moving around to clean her room up a bit more before the said boy arrived.
"Remus?" Olivia hummed, "That's a friend's name I've not heard before."
"Well, he's a new friend." Lydia told the woman with a soft smile.
"Just a friend?"
The young girl's head snapped towards the door.
"What?"
"Are you sure that this Remus is just a friend?" Olivia repeated teasingly, folding one of her step-daughter's shirts that had been chucked onto her bed.
Lydia blinked, "Of course we are. Why would you think anyone else? I have other guy friends. You don't say these kind of things when Toby's coming over."
"That's because he's Toby," Olivia told the girl, "Besides, I sense something happening between him and Addie?"
Lydia gaped, joining her on the bed, "What?"
"Oh, come on," Olivia chuckled, "It's painfully obvious."
"It is?"
"Well, to anyone over the age of twenty," Olivia laughed, as Lydia went back to cleaning, thoughts of her two friends now swirling around in her head, "All I'm saying is that you don't rush to clean your room when Toby or any other boy is coming over. Or care about how your hair is styled, or wear your contacts-"
"Liv," Lydia cut her off, a furious blush covering her cheeks, "It's the first time that Remus has come over. I just don't want to give him a bad impression."
The woman chuckled again, walking over to the girl and placing a soft kiss on her forehead, "A bad impression from you? Never," She smiled, beginning to leave the room, before turning back to Lydia, "Oh, and Lyds. You look lovely."

"He's not normally like this." Lydia laughed as she watched Roscoe meet Remus, almost licking the boy to death.
"What do you mean?" Remus asked with a smile as he stroked the dog.
"Well, he normally takes a while to warm up to someone," Lydia shrugged, "To learn that they aren't a threat."
