"Sirius Black is trying to set you up with one of his best friends?" Addeline chuckled, as the pair were sat doing homework in the library.
"Pretty much." Lydia nodded, adjusting the glasses on her face.
"Poor you." The Slytherin muttered, her voice laced with sarcasm.
Lydia stared at her, "What?" She asked.
"Maybe it's not the worst thing in the world," Addeline shrugged, "Black setting you up with Lupin."
The Hufflepuff scrunched her eyebrows together, "What are you talking about?" She questioned.
"I mean I'd find it quite nice if I were to be set up with someone," The dark-haired girl said, "And besides, maybe a boyfriend wouldn't be the worst thing for you right now."
Lydia scoffed, "I don't need a boyfriend."
"I know you don't 'need' one," Addeline told her, "But maybe a bit of companionship wouldn't be the worst thing."
"Well, considering you're meant to be one of my 'companions' I'd say that you're trying to get rid of me." Lydia smirked, raising a teasing eyebrow.
Addeline chuckled, rolling her eyes, "You know what I mean."
Lydia nodded, dipping her quill in ink, "That I do."
"What's the time?" Addeline asked.
Lydia checked her watch, "Half past four," She answered, "Why?"
"I promised I'd help Toby with an essay," The dark-haired girl answered, packing up her equipment, "You don't mind, do you?"
Lydia smiled, shaking her head, "Not at all." She told her friend.
"You're amazing, thank you. See you at dinner." Addeline said, before rushing out of the library, Lydia watching the Slytherin leave with a small chuckle.
As she excited the doors of the library, Addeline was putting the last of her equipment in her bag, as she passed Sirius and James.
"Black, Potter." The girl nodded as she walked past.
"Hawthorne." James nodded back.
"Afternoon, Hawthorne," Sirius smiled at the girl, "How's Lennox?"
"Still not interested in you," Addeline told him, "Lydia's in there by the way." She said, nodding her head knowingly towards the library, before quickly walking away to meet up with her friend.
Sirius smiled, rubbing his hands together, "Brilliant."

"It's not going to work." James told his best friend, as they both watched Lydia doing her homework, as they hid behind a bookshelf.
"Yes it will, Prongs," Sirius said, "Trust me."
James let out a sigh, "Alright." He murmured, before making his way over to the girl. Stopping in front of her table, James cleared his throat, making the girl look up in confusion.
"Everything alright, Potter?" She asked, pushing her glasses further up her face, looking at the boy who she's only talked to about three times in her Hogwarts career.
"Afternoon, Gables, I require your assistance." James told the Muggle-born, who raised an eyebrow at the boy.
"With what?"
"The Transfiguration essay."
Lydia raised an eyebrow, "The one that's due tomorrow?"
James nodded, "That exact one."
Lydia sighed, gesturing for him to take the seat that Addeline had once occupied.
"Get out your stuff and I'll help you." She told the Gryffindor boy, who grinned, sitting down.
"Thanks, you're the best." James said.
Lydia smirked, "I know."
"You know, I think I need a specific textbook for some of this." James spoke up.
"Oh, yeah, you do," Lydia realised, standing up, "You get started, and I'll go find a copy of it for you."
"Thanks." James smiled, before Lydia disappeared behind the shelves.
Walking over to the shelf of Transfiguration textbooks, Lydia scanned the titles on the spines of the books, stopping when she saw the only copy of the particular one that she was searching for. Reaching up, her hand touched another one that was reaching for the same book, making the two look at each other.
"Oh, sorry," Remus apologised, the pair retracting their hands, "Do you need that book?"
"Yeah, my friend, I guess, needs it to do the Transfiguration essay due tomorrow." Lydia explained, pushing her glasses further up her face.
"So does mine," Remus nodded, "But I'm sure that I can help Sirius without the textbook."
Lydia scrunched her eyebrows in confusion, before realising, "Remus?"
Remus looked at her, "Lydia?"
"Oh my goodness." Lydia muttered, chuckling slightly, Remus joining.
"I'm guessing this is part of Sirius' so-called 'master plan'." The taller boy chuckled, putting his hands in his pockets.
"That's some friend of yours that you have." The girl said.
"He sure is." Remus nodded, before the two laughed.
"Look at that, Prongs," Sirius told his best friend, watching the pair talk happily, as they hid once again behind a bookshelf, "Told you I was Cupid."
"I guess all you need now is the nappy and bow and arrows and you're set." James nodded.
"You're just jealous because you know that I could pull that off way better than you ever could."
