Lydia Gables sat with her friends in their usual compartment on the Hogwarts Express, listening to the sound of the train move, accompanied by the back and forth rocking of the train.
"You okay?" Tobias Alderidge asked Avery Lennox, as the aggravated Gryffindor entered the carriage.
"I was on my way back from changing into my robes, when Sirius Black approached me." Avery started.
"That can't be good." Lydia said, stroking her tabby cat - Mackerel - who was perched on her lap.
"What'd he say?" Addeline Hawthorne smirked.
"He came up to me asking what it's like to be half and half." The brunette seethed.
"He understands you're a Halfblood, not a carton of milk, right?" Lydia scoffed, adjusting her black-framed glasses.
Tobias chuckled "I don't think Black cares," He said, "In fact, I don't think he cares what a girl is, as long as they're good looking to him."
"So, I should be flattered?" Avery questioned.
"In the pig's way of thinking, yes." Lydia nodded, picking up her copy of 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'.
The brunette let out a heavy sigh as she sat down next to Addeline, clearly still very frustrated by the situation.
"Just ignore him, Avery," Tobias told the girl, "He's just a prat who only wants attention."
"I still can't believe that's Black's way of flirting," The Slytherin next to Avery sniggered, "How he gets a girl to sleep with him, I'll never know."
"It's because he's attractive." Avery answered, making her friends look up at her with raised eyebrows and questioning smirk.
"Oh really?" Lydia teased.
"In a conventional sense," The girl quickly added, "And that doesn't change that I hate him or that he's a giant prat."
Her friends only hummed in response.
The compartment door then opened to reveal the face of the familiar kind old lady they saw every time they were on the train.
