"Miss (Y/N)?" A voice called from the doorway.

I waited for a moment before slowly rolling over in the bed to look at him. Cory. He gave me a soft smile, his head falling to the side, and he opened his mouth, "I made some lunch, if you're hungry."

I looked at him for a moment, before the wave crashed over me again, and I rolled back over. I heard him whispering with someone outside in the hallway, but their voices were so quiet, I had no idea what they were saying. Or maybe I just didn't care enough to. My eyes landed on the object clutched in my hands, and my chest formed a knot.

Damien was gone.

...One Week Earlier...

I sat nervously, my foot tapping against the carpet as I clutched his phone in my hands. He had to come back today. It had been three weeks since Damien first 'disappeared'. I was still holding onto the fact that he was probably just visiting family. Damien wouldn't just leave me, not like that. He was a gentleman.

The reason that Damien had to come home today was because the investors in Japan had finally come to discuss the expansion. Some employees were going to be moved over, along with some other business arrangements. Abe was supposed to go with them, but he's long gone by now. I still wonder about him sometimes? Did Damien go to be with Abe? Was it some secret affair? I laughed quietly to myself. My voice bounced through the empty meeting room. It was a strange feeling to be in here all by myself. But the Japanese investors would be in here soon, along with Chase and Damien. And everything would just go back to normal. Damien would be home and he would wrap me in his arms and say "I'm sorry that I left. But I'm here now, and I love you." Maybe I thought up that last part just to make me feel better about what I said. What had probably drove him off in the first place.

My train of thought snapped in half as the door to the meeting room quickly opened, and Chase entered. He paced the room, his hand resting on his chin as he thought to himself deeply. It was strange seeing him so deep in thought. Along with that, he was dress in a nice navy suit. The front was unbuttoned and revealed a classy white dress shirt. His once green hair was now dyed back to its natural brown, with thin lines of grey. He looked so mature. This was a different side of Chase Brody. Chase then shortly stopped and turned towards me, his palms facing the ground, "I'm going to tell you something, but you have to promise not to panic or scream or whatever you women do when you have crazy emotions." I rolled my eyes and nodded slowly, watching as he approached me, stepping down onto his knees and pulling out his phone to show me an email. My eye widened and something inside my chest seemed to break more than it was before. Chase then rested a hand onto my thigh, staring up into my eyes. It just didn't make any sense.

"Do you understand?" He asked softly, "Do you know what that means? Or do I need to explain it?"

I decided not speak, in fear that I might just start crying instead.

Chase softly squeezed my thigh, "Damien handed over his shares to me. Which means that I am the owner of Damien & Co. now. Which also means that-"

"-That Damien isn't coming home." I spoke, almost in a whisper, "Damien left me."

He gave me a saddened look as he stood back onto his feet, then brushing off his navy pants. I felt like I was frozen in time. Damien had worked so hard for this business and he left it. Just handed it over to Chase because he didn't want to be with me anymore? I felt a deep pressure building in my chest as my nose began to feel weird. Tears were building. I rolled my eyes to clear them and stood on my feet with Chase. I let Damien's phone fall into my skirt pocket, forgot with the rest of the world.

"What do you need me to do?" I said through a cracking, sorrowful voice.

...The Present...

And now I laid in Damien's bed, remembering the last few good moments him and I had shared before I scared him away. It didn't take long before the bedroom door was busted open again.

"Come on, (Y/N). Seriously, you need to get out of this damn bed." Chase then snatched the covers off of my body. He came around to my side of the bed, his hands resting on his hips, "You're making Cory feel hopeless out there, and I need help at the office, so you need to MOVE ON and GET UP."

It only took a second before Chase noticed the object too, slowly pulling himself to sit across from me on the bed, and take it from my hands. His eyes widened, "Are you kidding me?" Chase let it fall back onto the bed before he rested his head in his hands, thinking aloud, "When?"

"This morning." I mumbled, "I can't decided what to feel. Or think."

"Well you better hurry up because you are pregnant, miss (Y/N)." Chase spoke sassily, "You're a mother now, and you don't get to think for yourself anymore."
